I love the general idea of Victoria's outfit but not the shape of the skirt. For her petite and athletic frame, the skirt makes her look very bulky. A little less volume (but not a narrow skirt) would have been preferable, and probably if the skirt was an inch or two shorter. I do like the colour combination of the champagne top and reds of the skirt, though.

At first I thought - what! But the more I look the cuter she looks in that enormous skirt! Sweet somehow, and a little innocent and the colors make me happy. Don’t like those hanging earrings, never do, but they’ll pass for now! And she looks happy! Ac

  4. This skirt is pretty, but it appears to add extra bulk to the CP, that isn't there. The skirt is too full. Love her shoes. The pale pink silk blouse is beautiful.

  5. She does love a full skirt, and its a gorgeous skirt, but with that loose, blah colored top, she looks unbalanced. Imagine a tight, cap sleeve, scope neck deep purple top. Better already, right?

      Nope, prefer this one.

Love this fashion moment! Great pattern and colors plus fabulous heels. The skirt is not the most slimming silhouette, but not all outfits have to be, so I’m loving this outfit. I’d be so fun to spin around in that skirt!

I love the look and colors on Victoria. I just wish she would wear her hair down sometimes, especially with such a feminine outfit like this. MR

While the colors are nice, the fit could be better. The top isn’t tucked in as well as it could be. And the skirt is overwhelming, as indicated by others stating too much bulk. Royals and their fashions are interesting. While Queen Maxima has stepped up her “fashion” game considerably, finally realizing less is often better, this CP is often a hit or miss. Like another loved Princess Royal, this one is not going to change her somewhat predictable, boring hairstyle, no matter how much we whine and urge different styles . Some just focus on their job and let it go at that. Me? I’m a clothes horse, even with my limited budget. I seek quality and simplicity over quantity. Clothes that will stand the test of time. And there should be more re-wears of the those fashions that highlight and flatter the royal lady.

The minister of culture wore the same blouse as the crown princess, I just love the pictures with them together!

Paloma.

    2. Hello Paloma. I had already thought that even before I read your comment.
We didn’t use bottles, we used wooden clothes pegs.
And that’s the type of skirt we’d put on them.
You must be around the same age as me.
It was well before “barbie” was ever thought of.

  11. I like very much the fabric of the skirt, however I have difficulties in accepting the shape. Globally, yes she looks cute. This sort of shape is multipling, we have seen Dchss Sophie, Maxima (not surprising), I think Mathilde. Wait and see.

  12. Magnifique jupe mais pas avec son amplitude ; heureusement que sa blouse en soie rose clair et ses talons équilibrent son allure !

Is it me or do the pumps looks wierd, are they to big maybe? Why does the tippy toe of the shoe point upwards when standing straight and walking..

CP's skirt is too long. This type of skirts when they are worn too long they look not beautiful anymore. She has similar skirts which, if I remember correctly, are less bulky than this one.

Like the top to this skirt. Less is more, but for the skirt to work it should have been shorter or longer.

The shiny (Natan?) floral skirt is too long and too big, Not a good choice.

CP Victoria never wears Natan. She wears most of all Scandinavian labels (But on this blog we are used that Natan gets the blame even when he didn't design the thing).

The skirt is by Camilla Thulin, not Natan. Non of the Scandinavian ladies use Natan.

I think a simple change in top could have improved this outfit. You can't have this fullness on top and bottom. If the top had been more tightly fitted, the skirt would have looked so much better. In that case, her waist would have looked tiny, instead of giving her this bulky look. I like the idea of this outfit. The colors are lovely and the overall look is feminine. Unfortunately, the overall look is lacking.

CP Victoria is one of the most lovable royals. Not only has she a natural sympathy that captivates all, but also she's dutyful and presents an excellent balance between her royal status and her personal life.
Unfortunatelly, her dressing style doesn't often flatters her. As someone said, "il y a toujurs un truc qui cloche". Apart some stunning occasions, CP Victoria wears often dodgy clothes, as this table-courtain-baloon awful skirt...

Nice concept. The skirt is a bit to shiny, and not the greatest shape. css.

  24. I can't help loving this. Yes, the gorgeous skirt has a lot of volume, but I think it stops just short of being too bulky. And it makes Victoria's waist look tiny. The stiletto heels also help balance out the proportions. Altogether an adorably feminine and refreshing look <3
