  3. Absolutely love this beautiful dress ❤️. On little girls, anything with an Edwardian vibe melts my heart.

A very cute little princess, doing something to brighten the day of some of the pensioners in Norfolk. I'm undecided as to the dress itself; but Charlotte looks quite nice in it. She seems to be having fun while out on her little mission of kindness. I can't believe she is five years old already. ~Laurel~

Such an adorable sweet little girl. She looks like William and QEII at the same time with a streak of mischievous. Happy BDay Charlotte. Cute dress too.

  8. For some years now I have thought that she looks like a carbon copy of Sarah Chatto Princess Margarets daughter. The dress would look OK, sort of vintage, if she was not wearing those unbelivabley outdated shoes that for some reason only the upper class British put their children in even on boys I fond very strange. A pair of white trainers/tennis shoes jogging shoes something like that would have looked much nicer more fun . The idea that those leather shoes are far healthier and better for growing childrens feet is so out of date I can not believe that they are still in use.

    1. Totally agree that she looks like Sarah Chatto and also the Queen. She is a lovely wee girl.
I disagree about the shoes which I think look very smart on small girls--less sure about them on boys. I am certainly not of the upper classes but when my sons were small, in the 90s, they still wore Start rite children's sandals in summer. I've just bought a pair for my one year old granddaughter :)
I actually thought the dress was on back to front until I saw the photo from Zara. I like it but think it would look better if it was worn the other way round.

    2. I thoroughly DISagree on your comment about the shoes!!! They are classic indeed but fit perfectly with the dress. Classic has still got value and does not get out of date!!! Yes they are perfectly adapted to growing children, certainly for girls.

The British upper classes most certainly do not put patent leather Mary Jane shoes on boys. And those shoes aren't just worn by the upper classes.

She looks very smart - trainers would give a whole other look. And constant wearing of trainers IS bad for growing feet.

@AnnieM, you know now that you mention it ... that dress does look like it would work backwards. Hmmm. LOL. I wonder if the the specific designer deliberately did it as a fashion statement. I used to sew quite a bit and I remember one blouse in particular that I decided actually worked better backwards and wore it that way thereafter. Since I had made it myself there was no tag or label denoting back from front so no one noticed I actually had it on backwards. :)
