The queen and her daughter look fantastic, both in colours that suit them. Princess Astrid, love seeing her, she is such a pretty lady, wearing an interesting coat. Nice to see her family out to support the competition

The young lady in the coral dress is an example of how proportion is important no matter how slim and tall you are. The length of her dress cuts her in half, where a few inches longer would balance her look. Otherwise lovely young lady.

    1. You are right! I didn't like the dress, but after reading your comment went back to see and saw the problem, good tip, my daughter is set to be a tall and slender girl, which I'm not, good to know what to avoid

The "young lady" is a daughter of Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz. She is 30 years old and her name is Luisa Maria.

In general, knees are just kind of unattractive when it comes to dresses. Better to have the hem just across the knees or just below. That's the "sweet spot" imo.

La reine est très jolie avec cette coiffure.

À mon humble avis, les cheveux relevés ainsi augmentent son charme.

  5. Very nice participation of the royal ladies. Eleonore is increasingly beautiful, and looks more and more like Qn Paola. For me impossible to have an opinion on the dress of Qn Mathilde from what we can see on the picture.

Just curious—do you have any specific feedback on what you don’t like about the dress, or are you more in the mood to vent?

    3. I don't like the fabric, the sleeves, the length. I am surprised it gets wide support. But no impact on my sympathy for the queen (if that led to the question).

Princess Eleonore is pretty in her blue gown. What I like on Mathilde is her hairstyle without the outside pointing waves she usually has when wearing her hair open. Doing away with them does something very positive for face and neck. What I don't like is her dress, less is more in golden shiny glamour, well demonstrated by Princess Astrid's coat which is also with overall gold embellishment but less shiny.

Queen Mathilde and the two younger princesses look spectacular from what I can see in the pics.
    .Princess Luisa Maria
(I guess she is the young lady in the orange dress)is exceptionally beautiful, well done to her.
    Gorgeous hairstyles all around.
The Queen's sequined gown features that kind of sophisticated glam that comes up my street, great!

Luisa Maria is the most beautiful of all her children, I almost took her brother standing beside his dad as her uncle.

Wow wow wow. Mathilde and her princess are beautiful. Looking at Mathilde’s shoes, I cannot see that there is adequate room there for that essential bit of human anatomy, the toes. I realise she’ll have few moments of standing of walking perhaps, but yowsers, they cannot be comfortable. When you consider that feet have the same number of joints as hands, and compare how very multi directionally mobile hands are, you can begin to think about the problems caused by squeezing feet into a single block of shoe with hardly any movement possible . She does however look spectacular in gold, and I hope she had those shoes kicked off during the performances.

I hadn't noticed but you are right. They seem hugely uncomfortable. But luckily they sat during the performances. Anouncement of the winner was around 1.15 PM, I watched it. Mathildes dress is looking much better on television, the reflection of flashes doesn't do it right at all. She did have a lot of reflection by the dress in the lower part of her face while sitting down, which was a bit disturbing for me. But overall a great outfit, also for Eleonore.

Congrats to the winner and every finalist, this is a huge accomplishment! I saw a video of the Belgian competitor playing Rachmaninov, it's absurd what trained hands can do with a piano. Huge compliments to every participant!

Queen Mathilde shoes have the same shape like her other court shoes. Since she is buying her shoes more or less from the same brands I think she knows what she is doing. One picture can give you a false image of how the shoe is really looking. It depends also on how the picture has been taken. When a photographer is sitting low and takes pictures from that angle one can be very surprised by the result of the picture.

Princess Eléonore is very beautiful in her blue dress. She had a jumpsuit once with the same neckline as this dress. This sort of necklines suits her very well.
Queen Mathilde's new golden dress is beautiful, but I had preferred it 7 cm shorter and the same print all over the dress. The different print on the lower part of the skirt makes the dress looking too heavy to me.
I like Princess Astrid in this dark silk coat. I think it is a rewear but I like her in this style of evening coats. If I remember correctly she has other coats in the same style.
Princess Luisa Maria's dress is a bit too short for her. Not that she cannot wear it but the proportions are not good. She is called the young lady in the coral dress but she is 30 years old and is (has been) living abroad. In Belgium we don't know much about the children of Princess Astrid.
It has been said that Princess Astrid took over the presence of a royal from Queen Mathilde, so that she could rest a bit. Queen Mathilde has a full agenda for the next week.
Prince Joachim is also living partly abroad I guess. It has been said he has (had) a girl friend in Spain.
Prinz Lorenz mother, Archduchess Anna Gabriele was also present. She seems to be not so young anymore, but still in good health.

Out of curiosity: why the repeated comments about Luisa Maria being 30 years old? In my book that still counts for being a young lady ;-) And she still has to turn 30 too btw (born in october 1995) ;-)

Oh the queens dress is so pretty and glamorous. Her shoes are perfect for the outfit and are not necessarily uncomfortable to walk in if you are used to wearing heels like she is.

I do not like Nathans Fashion. But I suppose the beautiful Queen has to present the national Fashion designer.

Pr Eleonore looks stunning in her gown, great color for her - so neatly attired. The Queen, on the other hand, does not look great in that gown - to me, it's to shiny and the length is not flattering. It is not a good look/style for her. Either make just below the knee or completely long. But the thing that grabs my attention in the photos are her feet. Others have commented. It appears her feet might be slightly swollen and that she has been poured into those shoes. An inch shorter would balance out the look much better for her tall frame and maybe a half size larger. Her hair style is her best feature in these photos.

I was not sure at first about the Queen's dress. After enlarging the photos, shoulder area is flat, droopy, the sleeves are too short, keeping in mind balance of a garment. The bottom section of the dress is a mess with all that is going on down there. I too felt the shoes looked very uncomfortable. Since no designer was listed, I cannot presume to assume it might have been Natan, but that looks a great deal like the design misses that come from that design house. Not impressed.
The daughter, lovely. The other assorted family members all well put together, except for the 'young lady' with a dress that was too short for her build.
