The Second Child of Bhutanese King and Queen Was Born

On March 19, 2020, the second child of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan was born. The baby's name will be announced later. It is a custom in Bhutan not to announce the baby's name until after a special Buddhist naming ceremony. The new prince is second in the line of succession to the Bhutan throne. The family made an announcement regarding the birth on King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck's social media accounts.

The announcement is as the following:

"We are honoured to announce the birth of the second Royal Child of Their Majesties The King and Queen, a Prince, on the 19th of March 2020, corresponding with the 25th day of the 1st month of the Male Iron Rat year, in Lingkana Palace, Thimphu.

Her Majesty and the royal baby are in good health, and His Royal Highness The Gyalsey was delighted to meet his younger brother.

Their Majesties express their gratitude to the medical team, the Zhung Dratshang and to everyone for their well-wishes and prayers.

While this remains a very happy occasion for the Royal family and the nation and people of Bhutan, Their Majesties wish to remind all Bhutanese to be mindful, responsible and supportive to each other in the wake of the COVID-19 virus.

Their Majesties have everyone whose lives have been affected by this global pandemic in their thoughts and prayers."

  6. This has to be the most stunningly beautiful and elegant person I have ever set eyes on. With supreme taste in everything she wears whether traditional Bhutanese or casual western wear. Glorious I love just looking at her she Always seems so serene.

  7. J'espère que le bébé sera aussi craquant que son frère ; peut-être que nous aurons l'occasion et le plaisir d'avoir des petites photos très colorées qui viendront nous ensoleiller en cette période de confinement à travers le monde !
