Queen Rania of Jordan attended the 2021 graduation ceremony of the International Academy Amman (I.A.A.) in Amman. The academy was founded by Queen Rania in 2004 and is an independent, co-educational day school. It is accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Queen Rania wore a cotton midi shirt dress and striped top by Dries Van Noten.

Magnifique robe-chemisier dans ce bleu-roi lumineux mais je ne suis pas très fan de ce haut-rayé que je verrais mieux porté avec une jupe-crayon ou un pantalon !
ReplyDeleteMaybe she chose this outfit to pick up the colours and stripes of the graduation robes. But I don´t think it looks good. The stripey top in particular is distracting and superfluous. The blue shirt dress is alright, but I don´t really like it either. In that colour and with the collar, the large pocket flaps and the button-down design, it´s a bit like a janitor´s frock and gives me blue-collar vibes. I don´t think it can be styled elegantly, it will likely never get much beyond house dress level. The see-through plastic belt shouldn´t exist.
ReplyDeleteIf the inner striped top has to be worn, I'd rather that the sleeves were pulled up high like on the model. Wearing them fully down just looks strange for an outfit to have two sets of prominent sleeves. I do like the Cobalt blue dress a lot and the belt as well. The cut and waistline gathering is flattering to a slim figure like Rania's and the sleeve length looks lovely.

I agree with you Anon 9:13.

The blue dress would be beautiful without the horrid striped shirt. Three quarters length sleeves would be even better. Queen Raina is a stunning lady.

Agree, Barb!
DeleteI love this dress, is perfectly fluid and she looks fantastic, it would be a good outfit by itself, but the striped cami underneath gives it a different and original touch. Rania takes risks in fashion and this one pays up.

Agree with most comments. I think the striped top is ghastly under such a pretty dress. Mary I
ReplyDeleteI love this unusual and thoughtful composition, a simple blue dress pepped up by the striped shirt - resulting in a very unique outfit. I also don't have any problem with the transparent plastic belt. (-Ann.)
ReplyDeleteIts queen Rania. Not Raina
