On June 2, 2025, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, accompanied by Georges Marsan, Mayor of Monaco, unveiled two new portraits in the Salle des Mariages in Monaco. The works, depicting Princess Charlene and Princess Grace, join the existing series of princely portraits displayed in this symbolic venue, which includes those of Prince Charles III, Prince Albert I, Prince Louis II, Prince Rainier III, and Prince Albert II.
The portrait of Princess Charlene, created in 2013 by Ms. Stéphanie Van Zyl—who was present for the occasion—is a framed gouache on white paper. The portrait of Princess Grace, a framed oil on canvas, was painted by Mr. Paul Werner Sochtig. Both artworks are on loan from the Prince’s Palace. For the occasion, Princess Charlene wore a dandelion print dress by Akris.
Very nice dress, love the shoes. I am not a fan of sandals/shoes with ankle straps but in photo 2 the lady on the far right has a pair that look really nice. Is it the colour, or that the strap is below the ankle bone rather than above that makes the difference.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a nice Akris dress. I’ve not previously found anything from that designer feminine or soft. This is lovely for Charlene, including the shoes.
ReplyDeleteThe paintings are beautiful, but what caught my eye was Princess Charlene's gorgeous dress! I appreciate her wearing heels with it- much nicer than the model's boots!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great look for her!
Jamais, je n'aurais pensé que ce modèle de robe était de chez Akris ; très bien porté par Charlène avec des chaussures à petits talons !
ReplyDeleteAkris is Princess Charlene go to designer. This is a lovely Summer dress, and sits beautifully on her. Kitten heels are certainly making a comeback.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
she had taken a break from Akris this past year. while this is a beautiful dress, her previous Akris wear was all black which ruined her image and was labelled 'sad princess'
Deletebut since she has been trying to appear happy and wear colorful outfits.

DeleteSouriante et chic ces derniers temps, et pas de noir !!!! les chaussures sont parfaites. Bravo à Charlène. Marie
ReplyDeleteBoth portraits are stunning! The artists wonderfully captured both women in terms of their beauty, elegance, and style. Charlene looks beautiful in this simple Akris dress. I think she styled it much better--the heels add elegance and sophistication to dress. I'm usually not a fan of Akris but this dress is lovely--to be honest I think I like it because Charlene has elevated the style.

This is a pretty dress. One remark about the slightly elongated shoulder part (there is a name for it but I don't recall it): she does not need the broadening this provides. Other than that, beautiful. I also like the white boots on the model and the shorter length.
ReplyDeleteThe two portraits really compliment each other. It is a treat to be able to see them.
ReplyDeleteCharlene's dress is beautiful. I love the sophisticated print.
Lovely dress. I don't think she can go wrong with AKRIS.

Princess Charlene wears Akris so well. This is a stunning dress and looks great with the stylish sling pumps. She rocks chic simplicity in hairstyle, jewelry, clothing and shoes. Both are beautiful portraits. But the one of Princess Grace is darker and seems to give off a vibe of late 1800's or early 1900's or I off in my assumption? Or is it the look of impressionism?
ReplyDeleteYes. My thoughts too. Perhaps artists did not want Princess Grace to over shadow the current princess, as she does with almost everything named after her in Monaco
DeleteThis dress looks splendid. Love her black shoes. The dress is a good length and fits perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder why modern brands, stopped paying attention to matching print at the seams. It used to be the feature which really distinguished expensive tailoring. It more economical to cut out the details anyhow, but it looks sloppy and kinda cheap. This dress retails for $1,794.00, though.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, my grandmother and mother thought me to look at the "continuing" of lines and designs at the seams. For instance Burberry doesn't do it consistently.

Princess Charlene has a presence, beauty and love in her heart.
