On May 8, 2024, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain attended a commemorative event marking the bicentennial of the National Police at the Royal Palace in Madrid. The anniversary is celebrated throughout 2024 with various events at different parts of the country. On January 13, the National Police celebrated its 200th establishment anniversary under the motto "Comprometidos contigo" (Committed to you).

Nice outfit. Trying to get over the trainers since I know Queen L has a foot injury but they just look so inappropriate for a formal occasion. All credit to her for continuing to keep up with her schedule instead of waiting for the bone to heal
ReplyDeleteAh I’m absolutely loving the white trainers with white trousers! I think it’s a fantastic elegant summer look and I really hope it takes off. Women’s feet will be so so much better off if this is officially adopted as elegant, and well it maybe, if a queen is wearing them and looking so chic. (Grace)

DeleteBesides looking great with white trousers, white trainers are great for jumping off the train and running to your car in the train station parking lot in order to beat the traffic jam at the exit, after a long days work. :))

DeleteWhite trainers are already adopted by the majority of women of all ages during Summer. Queen Letizia wore them already when she was off duty. Now she has to wear them almost all the time because of her feet problems.

Resulta inusual verla así en una ocasión formal, pero sería peor dejar solo al Rey en la celebración. Los accidentes suceden y está muy guapa con su pantalón blanco, su chaqueta de pata de gallo y sus deportivas.

ReplyDeleteOh my God! People who have never experienced it don’t know how painful it is! I admire Queen Letizia being injured and still having to perform official duties.
ReplyDeleteI love this look on Q. Letitia, trainers and all. Too many of our royal ladies teeter around in sky high stilettos for no reason at all. I think they should save them for formal events, and even then a kitten heel can look just as elegant. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteI think Queen Letizia looks great! Her blazer is beautiful. I love her white sneakers with her suit--and I completely understand why she needs to wear them too. I have read she has been suffering with a Morton's Neuroma--those of you thinking she should not wear the sneakers should take a look at what that is. Its horribly painful and I cannot believe she is able to walk without limping. My mother had one and she had terrible pain. She had surgery for it and it did help. I hope HM recovers soon and that she is pain free.

DeleteWhy censor just because I said that the "blazer" swallowed her because of her tiny frame? The blazer looks more like a coat than a blazer. Something her seamstress (which they all have) could have fixed this. Greetings from someone with a degree in dress and suit making. Jackets like this will swallow a small person nothing to do with her. PS love the blazer.
ReplyDeleteEso es mentira. La chaqueta es amplia pero no se la traga en absoluto. Y Letizia no es "diminuta", es una persona de estatura normal que va al lado de un marido gigante y ahora se ve obligada a usar calzado completamente plano.
