Queen Mathilde showing Q. Camilla how its done. Boots are for out door events, not when hosting a reception at the palace.

perhaps her and the DofG are covering varicoses, but the late Queen had them, she always wore stocking and low heels

    2. Normally I would agree with the opinion that boots are not suitable for a reception. But in this particular case Queen Camilla received a OOAK Barbie doll of herself dressed with a replica of her outfit including the black boots. It is great fun to see Queen Camilla and her doll in the same outfit, isn't it.

All three ladies look very elegant, what a lovely surprise to see them together! I adore the spring colours on Mathilde and Camilla. I'd love to know if they agreed to wear cape jackets today :-)

Curiously, Mathilde looks very tall in some pictures, compared to the other women present (except for one woman in the last picture). I know she is tall, but I never noticed it this obviously.

I was thinking the same thing - Mathilde does look much taller than the other women.

Because she is tall and always were tall. The only women I know who are taller than Queen Mathilde is Belgium's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annelies Verlinden, she never wears stiletto's and Queen Maxima (I am not sure).

She is tall but she has also added about 10 cm with those heels. Beautiful fuchsia coloured dress. I Think the velvet coat dress of DoG elegant. We have seen it many times before but she wears it well.

      Anonymous 13/3 11:21 CORRECTION
It must be "Belgium's Minister of Interior Affairs" Annelies Verlinden
      Sorry

Even without her heels she is taller. I remember the picture taken not long after the decease of Queen Elizabeth when Queen Camilla invited Queen Rania, CP (know queen) Mary of Denmark, Mrs Zelenska, Sophie Duchess of Edinburgh, .... Queen Mathilde was the tallest (the other royal ladies wore high heels too except Queen Camilla)

    6. I have seen Queen Camilla a couple of times on walkabouts. She is much smaller than she appears in photos. As is the King. Queen Mathilde looks fab and I like the bright blue of Queen Camilla's dress

All three ladies look good but Mathilde is the picture of elegance in her well fitting fuschia dress, and also with the long caramel coat. Dame Helen Mirren looks older than her 78years, though I'm pleased to see that she attended with her husband Taylor Hackford. I'm laughing more than I think I should be at the Barbie doll that Camilla was presented with, which was dressed identically in the outfit she is wearing today. Mixed messages about the doll.

Camilla loves her boots. And in her favor, she is more than 20 years older than Mathilde. I have lost count on how many appointments Queen Camilla had lately. Always smiling, always engaging. Loyal to Charles, the crown and her country. I sometimes think she does not have time to change her shoes. At her age I think she is doing a marvelous job.

Queen Mathilde shows one more time how an elegant lady looks like. The fuchsia dress by Bernard Depoorter is simple but chic. Her accessories are well chosen. The diamond butterfly brooch too. Better 1 valuable jewel that catch the eye than a lot of necklaces and bracelets. The cape is from the Natan & Alicia Audrey Collection. This is the 3rd time that Queen Mathilde is invited at Buckingham Palace since King Charles is on the trone.
I hope Queen Mathilde had the opportunity to meet with her daughter CP Elisabeth who is still studying at Oxford University. I know she misses her eldest children.

Camilla, no, no, the cape looks like the uniform of a nurse, a boxy, unflattering look together with the plump boots, worn indoors………Compared to Camilla, Mathilde looks like The Fairy Queen.

      @Achard62.

Queen Camilla looks like she forgot to take the hanger away. I bet she wore
two pair of shoulderpads : 1 under the dress and 1 under the short coat.
Yesterday I found on the internet a lot of pictures of Queen Camilla when she was young(er). She wore beautiful clothes in those days. They can easily be worn today. Or she gain weight in the meantime and the dresses and jackets don't fit anymore).

Not fond of the colour combination of Queen M's dress/cape coat. She looks lovely otherwise. I see Camilla is wearing her black boots again, indoors, did the pipes burst and she's ready to make a hurried exit? lol
