Fredrick still looks like the scrappy Prince, time to upgrade to King style.

What’s “king style”, dear anonymous? Is there a standard set out for kings to dress to?! Ha! I was just thinking how lovely and relaxed they look together, and how wonderful it is that he can fulfil his role in a relaxed manner - except when extreme protocol is required when he has always suited up most handsomely! - AnneLise

    4. @AnneLise, my thoughts excatly! Fortunately queen Margarethe gave space to this wonderful, youngish couple. Danish youth likes their king a lot, it's very important.
Mary looks also good in this all black ensemble. Her pants always have the right length.

This is not relevant, but in my country, Finland, we have just got a president who is in the first time in my life younger than me (he is 55) and I'm very happy for our young and relaxed president 😊.

In defense of "Anon 11:26, to start, clean shaven - or at least a better groomed beard (see King Willem) - properly fitting clothes especially the pants. His pants are NEVER fitting him properly. But, this is just my opinion. If the Queen is happy with his look then that's all that matters. She's the one that has to go home with him.

@annonymous 11:26 the King and queen are not there for an official engagement or supporting one of their patronages. This is a private meeting and they just so happened to share this. They are dressed in warm clothes and I am sure their casual clothes are expensive too!!

Yeah, that's what many other have said. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. It's humbling. On a side note, if I ever get to visit Denmark I want to make this one of my first stops. It seems fascinating.

Maybe, and what if? They will be named in history books. The cathedral of Roskilde is a nice place to visit, I was very impressed when I visited it over 15 years ago. There is also a Viking museum and you can row a viking boat on a lake, which I loved! Damsel Dragonfly

Here we go again, Even when King Frederick is in his Full Dress Uniform or his Court Dress he is unfairly attacked for not dressing appropriately . I am very proud of him for how far he has come since he was a young 18 year old man not so secure about his future! FITZHUGH

I think he looks just fine in his Full Dress Uniform and Court Dress. Very handsome. For me, like others, it's his "regular" clothes that almost always seem so disheveled.

@annonymous whenever King Frederick is supporting one of his official engagements he is always dressed in a suit although some complain he wears his jackets too tight he wears them to enhance his physique to show off his hard workouts!

Lang ists her… anna e.

Frederik is a young, modern king in a relaxed Danish society. I see nothing wrong with his normal daily dress; in fact I find the lack of stuffiness quite refreshing. He knows very well when (and how) to put on his glad rags when the occasion calls for it.

Not every man likes to wear his pants in the same way. Some like it more tight than others, some more loose, just like women. Some men like to wear their suits more in the Italian style and some prefer the English style. As long as it suits you, it is fine with me.
About beards : some kings have wild beards, other have a beard that is well groomed. Some are looking like big dwarfs, with a big white beard.
It is time that people are going to accept that royals are just people like anybody else.
It is strange that it is always the same kings and princes that are attacked for their posture, for their suits or clothes in general. What about a king that is wearing old shapeless suits, whose hands are always in the pockets of his jacket and whose hair is too long in his neck and is growing over his collar ? I hear almost never complaints about how he is looking.

Each Royal has their own style and King Fredericks style is more down to earth and relatable and I have never seen him do anything inappropriate!

  12. I don’t think this is an official event where the King and the Queen should be dressed up to the hilt.
No ribbon cutting, no tree planting etc. just an unofficial visit.
I think King Fred is O.K. in his casual dress.
Anyway, I think he looks cool and dashing.
You know I’ve got a bit of a liking for a man who dresses in a rough and ready style. Even more so when he is a King.
Just a little weakness I’ve got and I’m not ashamed to share it with my fellow bloggers.
I’m always happy to see my hubby when he comes home all wind blown and dishevelled from his fishing trips.
Queen Mary looks snug and warm and happy to be with the King.

Anon 13:42. Why would I do that? Comments about rumours don't make them facts! Definition of "rumour" according to Collins Dictionary: 1. a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts. 2. gossip, hearsay. Or in easier words " If you did not see it with your own eyes or hear it with your own ears, don't invent it with your small mind and share it with your big mouth." I'm afraid you still don't get it, sadly, that can't be helped. Oh, and by the way, you're welcome. Have fun gossiping.
