On May 22, 2020, Queen Letizia held a video conference with the representatives of the National Federation of Sports Facilities and Gyms (FNEID) to learn how the crisis caused by COVID-19 is affecting a sector that provides sports services to more than 5.5 million people. Spain's national federation of gyms has drawn up a plan to re-open health centres amid the coronavirus lockdown. This plan aims to get the 4,743 gyms in Spain open again in a responsible and prudent manner.
