Queen Margrethe of Denmark visited Nyborg Municipality in connection with the her traditional 2019 summer tour. The Queen arrived at Nyborg Harbour on May 31 and was welcomed by Mayor Kenneth Muhs of Nyborg. The annual royal summer tour on the Dannebrog is a tradition that dates back to the reign of King Christian X of Denmark who made yearly trips across Danish waters. The Dannebrog is often used by the Danish Royal Family on their official travels in Denmark during the summer.

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are currently making a three day State visit to Ireland on May 22-24 upon the invitation of President Michael D Higgins. The King and The Queen of Sweden arrived in Dublin yesterday and were welcomed by President Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabina Coyne. Queen Silvia and King Carl Gustaf visited the Croke Park GAA Stadium in Dublin. The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is Ireland’s the largest sporting organisation. In the evening, the King and the Queen attended a dinner at Aras an Uachtarain, hosted by President of Ireland.
