Princess Alexandra will accompany her father during Japan visit

The Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg announced that Grand Duchess Maria Teresa will not be able to join state visit to Japan which will take place between the dates of November 27-30. In place of her, Princess Alexandra will accompany her father, Grand Duke Henri during Japan visit. In the press statement of the Grand Ducal Court, it was stated that the reason that Grand Duchess Maria Teresa can not join Japan visit is that she is afraid of flying. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa could not succeed in conquering her fear of long flights despite all of her efforts.

  1. I think it is nice that Alexandra will accompany her Father. She seems like a lovely girl and is such a pretty combination of her parents. I did not know of MT's fear of long flights--that would be quite a challenge for someone in her position.

  2. Unfortunately its a phobia that is very difficult to overcome. agra-phobia is a disturbing process,HEIGHTS ! even climbing a hill is scary. Understandable. With great respect her family is lovingly behind her.xx

    1. Lucy, I think you mean Acrophobia (from the Greek: ἄκρον, ákron, meaning "peak, summit, edge")... Agraphobia means fear of sexual assault!

  3. She may have aerophobia, claustrophobia or acrophobia.

  4. agoraphobia is fear/anxiety about unknown places, the 'outside' many are housebound for years.
