  1. The outfit on Gabriella is adorable but I don’t like military uniforms on children. Whose army anyway? Monaco’s military? Isn’t that a bit preposterous?

Non. It is not proposterous. It is the life these twins were born into. They both look regal, incredibly well groomed and seem to be handling their young responsibilities with grace. Gorgeous children, who will become handsome and beautiful one day. If you need further proof, just look at their mother.

    3. Just the opposite for me. I adore Prince Jacques in his little carabinieri uniform and I dislike Gabriella's outfit. It looks too Hollywood nouveau riche, to be blunt. And btw both Albert, Rainier and even Andrea Casiraghi were pictured in the uniform as children.

    4. Lovely photo. The children are beautiful and look great in their formal outfits. Birthday greetings to them

    5. What is Hollywood about Gabriella's hat and coat? I realize saying something is Hollywood is meant to be an insult on this blog, but you make no sense. What do you think Hollywood children are like? I would say Jacques and Gabriella look as opposite of nouveau riche as you can get. It's a shame to judge children's attire, especially when they are dressed according to custom for their country's national holiday.

  3. Sweet kids. But a little boy in a toy uniform, and a little girl dressed as a 1960s nanny is ridiculous. Amy

    3. I wouldn't call the Monaco royals ancient. I do admit for me the whole Monaco will never ever be more than a circus show. I don't regard them as nobility. They are completely different from the true nobility of the other european royal families.

    4. Agree only about Gabriella. I hate her outfit this year, it looks ridiculous!

    5. LOL. Coralie, the only thing different about the Grimaldis from the other European nobility is that they don't hide their misdeeds and the Monaqasques love them. And unlike most of the others they are so rich they don't have to rent out their palaces and auction off their jewels. And their House is almost a thousand years old. How can that not be considered ancient??

    6. Monaco's noble line is more ancient than any other in Europe. And as far as scandal and a "circus" atmosphere I can think of at least one other Royal House that puts the Grimaldis to shame!

    7. Perfectly put 22:50 and Lela. The monarchy of Monaco is one of the oldest in Europe.

    8. I've always heard that the first Grimaldi was a pirate that used a big rock in the Mediterranean as a place to hide what he has stolen from other ships. The rock was probably in the neighborhood of Monaco.
In modern times the daughters of Prince Rainier and Princess Grace had several relations with several men. Maybe it was not their fault that they always encountered the wrong person. They also lived surrounded by people who came to the casino's of Monte-Carlo and were attired by the money of the rich. Not the best company for a young princess. I remember that Prince Rainier has been ill a while because he was not able anymore to protect his youngest daughter for the mistakes she made in her young life.

You said “Monaco will never ever be more than a circus show”.
But I think the prize goes to WindsorLand.
I think it brings in more tourists than Disneyland.
And WindsorLand is not only a circus show but also a soap opera where the characters play their own parts.

    10. Hallo Deadeggs, of course the BRF attracts more tourists than Disneyland - they are attractive.
As for Monaco: No, Albert does not hide Jazmin Grimaldi. Neither Alexandre and Nicole Coste. Because he can't hide them. I don't regard it as a "scandal" that he had affairs or has children without being married to their mothers, that is quite normal, isn't it. But then why faking to be sooo traditional and catholic that only the youngest boy of his four children will be reigning one day? That is a circus show to me.

    11. I do not find it normal that Albert has children without being married to their mothers. He is a prince and he should have known better. When he was a young man it was not difficult to have access to preservatives. Of course we do not know anything or not much about the women he made pregnant. I have always wondered if Princess Charlene knew before she got married in what kind of family she arrived. The fact that only prince Jacques will be reigning one day has nothing to do with being catholic but probably with the rules of the Grimaldi dynasty (kind of constitution of Monaco). He is the only legitimate son he has during his legal marriage to Princess Charlene.

    12. Coralie, do you truly believe that millions of tourists flock to Britain every year because the Windsors are "attractive" instead of because of the magnificent hisorical palaces and other places to be seen ? The Windsors are the most famous of the Royal families for sure.

But for sheer physical beauty the Casiraghis,Borromeo and Grimaldi cannot be matched imho . Any way tastes like opinions vary, to paraphrase the late great Elizabeth II.

The Grimaldis are Catholic. What does that have to do with anything? Why was so called DEFENDER OF THE FAITH Charles III and his longtime mistress crowned in an Anglican religious ceremony?

Personal opinions are not always grounded in objective reality.

    13. Well, as for Albert not using condoms, I admit I was asking myself the same question, but then it his life - and his risk.
As for the only "legitimate" son, that is what I meant. If Albert and his family really believe there is such a thing as a "not legitimate" child (or in this case even two) just because there was no religious wedding ceremony, he should have kept his pants on.

    14. I don't know how it is in Monaco but in many countries it is the civil ceremony that counts. Once again it has nothing to do with having a religious ceremony too. If you are married without a religious ceremony but just for the law, the children you will have with your legal wife or husband are legitimate. Other children a man/woman has outside this marriage are not legitimate, unless there was a divorce and there are other legal children from a previous marriage. That is how it is in many countries according to the law.

    2. I do not agree. Prince Rainier when he was young had black hair, a thin black moustache and the looks of a Mediterranean man. Prince Jacques is blond and has blue eyes. He has something of Grace Kelly who was from Irish origin and also from his mother when she was a bride to be.

    3. I wish to add that Princess Gabriella when she smiles looks a bit like her auntie Stephanie.

  6. Déjà 9 ans pour Jacques et Gabriella ; ils sont trop mignons et complices mais je trouve que Gabriella n'est pas du tout vêtue comme une fille de son âge ; même si cela lui va bien ; elle ressemble trop à une jeune femme !

  11. Love the two little cutie pies. They look so brave.
I’m sure they get lots of cuddles from their mum and dad.
Prince Jacques is going to be as handsome as his two uncles, Gareth and Sean Wittstock or maybe even more handsome.
I always see a look-a-like with Princess Gabriella and her aunt, Princess Stephanie.
