  1. Again, a year has passed and here we are again. So nice to see the RF all out in their fine wardrobes and jewels. And for the Pride of Nations whose Citizens received the Nobel Peace Prize well deserved. I like CP Victorias and the Q Silvis gown the best. Pss Sofias was very nice but to black for the happy occasion and a little bit too much on jewelry, some of it was not real. The men looked good to, Black suits or Tuxedos. Are always classy. css

    1. I agree about Sofia´s all-black colour. Too somber for me too. However, I think it is the jewellery and the sash that brighten it up enough to make it festive. I wish she had chosen a silver purse as well. I like her jewellery and don´t mind a bit if some of it is not real. The thing that bothers me is that it looks awfully tight around her neck. I cannot imagine having that around my neck, let alone eat a 4-course meal with it on.

    2. The men are all wearing white tie and tails. That is the dress code for Nobel.

  2. QS: Classic 'Silvia' ballgown in a muted colour. Rewear, always good. Nothing new fashion wise to comment on.
CPV: Classic 'Victoria' ballgown in a strong colour. Rewear, always good. Nothing new fashion wise to comment on.
PS: Classic signature 'Sofia' 1980s ballgown in a funeral colour. Rewear, don't know (she has similar gowns in other colours). Nothing new fashion wise to comment on. Except the 'over the top' clunky necklace (it's crystals, not diamonds) that does not add anything. Amy

How is it known that it is crystal and not diamonds?

  3. Sofia gives me Morticia vibes and bathes in too much jewelry. Every year she looks the same. Winner is Silvia. Even Victoria looks not her best today. Frieda

Better views of the royal dresses and the Queen an CP look excellent. I like Sofias black dress but would rethink the jewellery . P Christina adds festivity to her black dress with her silvery kaftan.

  5. Vibrant colour for Victoria, suits her well. Stunning jewellery.

  6. Love Queen Silvia’s and I like CP Victoria’s gown too. The Queen’s dress is the winner, though. Fabulous. The style of Princess Sofia’s dress looks good but I’m not a fan of the all black dress

  7. Every looks lovely! But Crown Princess Victoria is best-dressed in my opinion. Love the whole purple ensemble.

  8. Astrid is actually the win for me. Tiara sits beautifully and her gown has luxurious and lovely details. Sylvia also looks great in the lavender rose color and I have always liked this gown on her. Victoria’s violet is good with her complexion.

  10. I like very much Sofia's look, what's wrong with Morticia Addams vibes? The bold jewelry around the neck looks modern and classic at the same time. Nothing wrong with the "cheaper" jewelry. And she has loaned a really expensive and regal pair of ear rings from queen Silvia, very nice with her tiara. I wouldn't say that she looks the same every year, not at all.
The other ladies look fine, nothing more to say.

  11. I forgot to say that Sofia's Andiata qown looks very, very good too. A great background to the jewelry.

  12. Toutes sont superbes même si Sofia aurait pu porter une couleur autre que du noir !

  14. The trend that royals are repeating their gala and other dresses continues.
    1. Queen Silvia looks gorgeous in her pink gown. Love her jewelry
    2. CP Victoria looks good in purple and the amethyst jewelry is very beautiful. I also thought immediately at Queen Maxima's dress with the big silk flower draped on her shoulder. Maxima received a lot of bad comments for that. But in the meantime, I think she is used to receive comments when other royal ladies who are doing exactly the same are not. I admire her because Queen Maxima is smart and intelligent and wears exactly what she wants and don't get influenced by what others think and say about her.
    3. Princess Sofia looks very regal to me in this black dress. The jewelry creates a contrast. I don't mind if she is wearing Swarovski crystal necklaces. It proofs that less expensive stones can also be beautiful. As well as diamonds the crystals are also coming from nature. It makes me think of the gold of the Inca's. For them it was a metal, for the Spanish conquistadores it was gold they could steel for their king and queen. And even kill to get it.

On behalf of Max’s fan club ……….. thanks.
      She’s the best, you know.
That’s why we love her to death.

  15. CP Victoria is stunning!!! The Queen is lovely, but am not fond of the colour of her gown, as it seems somehow lacking in vibrancy. Sofia's dress at first glance looked like the 'merry black widow' from the Victorian Age. We all know she is not widowed, though the black gown with over the top jewelry, leaves us wondering why she wore so much 'big' jewelry.

  17. I adore Her Majesty in the pink - chosen methinks because it aches to be draped in all her famous pink topazes (The most spectacular set on earth in my humble opinion) but at least she is wearing a couple of them. She will be wearing this gown again with her topaz suite, I am sure!
The crown Princess is resplendent in her amethyst ensemble - cannot fault a thing!
Darling Princess Sophia - normally enjoy her ensembles, but this time I am underwhelmed by the frock, and you never, never, never wear costume jewels and real diamonds at the same time! If she needed more carats, I am sure Her Majesty would have happily obliged.

  18. Q Silvia's outfit is perfect. The embellishment is localized, not allover and the shine is from the weave of the fabric, not sequins. Sorry, I'm not being catty, though I am reminding readers of a British dress from last week. The amethyst tiara is beautiful. If I were Victoria, I would wear it as often as possible, too. Christine
