Q.Camilla looks lovely in that shade of pink. Summer ends this weekend so she got it in just in time :) I watched her descend from the airplane this morning and felt so sorry for her; she was struggling to come down the steps slowly, and at the same time trying to keep her skirt under control in the wind and hold on to her hat on her head. She was left by herself, while Charles was way ahead of her. I thought that he should have been by her side.

Both she and Madame Macron look very good for the state dinner and it's a nice surprise that both chose to wear the same colour. Madam Macron looks very chic and elegant. I like that the jewellery was downplayed on both ladies and that everyone including spouses look smart and comfortable for a lovely reception and dinner.

I have to agree with your comment about the king. He should offer his wife his hand at the bottom of steps, getting out of cars/carriages, etc. I never see other royal men neglecting these courtesies. I hate to say it, but his habitual ignoring of them and rushing on ahead is quite noticeable.

Queen Camilla is looking fabulous! Great make-up, hair and fantastic jewellery. The pink outfit is a typical one, the colour suits her very much. I adore the rich blue evening wear, what a fabulous look on her. Mrs. Macron also looks good in her own daytime style (which is not really my thing, but that's personal). The dark blue dress is one of her best looks yet for evening wear. Mr. Macron is looking great too. Damsel Dragonfly

    1. Airport arrival :
I’m surprised that nobody advised Camilla about the Marilyn Monroe risk. It’s either got to be a straight skirt or pants for getting on or off a plane on the tarmac.
Her pink ensemble is a nice variation of her usual style. I’m not a baby pink lover. But that’s very personal.
      Evening gown :
Credit where credit is due, a 10/10. The colour offsets her (wow) jewlery.
Mme Macron : very French chic.. Her evening gown is from either Valentino or Louis Vitton, her fettish designers.
Mme Macron is a graduate from the Wallis Simpson Academy where the motto is “never too slim, never too rich”.

Emanuel Macron is the baby of the group. He is 46 years old.
His wife Brigette, Charles and Camilla are all over 70 years of age.
Hope they checked to make sure he ate all his veggies at the dinner.😁
Nice warm welcome for the King and Camilla.
Still 2 more days to go for the fashion show.
I’ve got my fingers crossed that Camilla has left the boots and her unbuttoned cardigan at home.

      Hello , @ Deadeggs,
ok, now I'm crying again with laughter!!
Yes, you' re right, but unfortunately Camilla Is no Marilyn and Charles shouldn't t have stepped down so quickly and left her alone to face that ( for her) hard getting off.
A risquĂš outfit is not recommendable for her...
She looked unsteady on her feet too.
I am determined to overlook her pink ensemble...uhm...
      Re : the dinner,
By the way ...double wow for Versailles( I was there once ,just spectacular including the mirrors hall, the Gardens, sensational all around)!
The Queen and M.me Macron were so polished and classy, top notch both of them.
I appreciate that they both were not overly bejewelled.
Monsieur Macron( may I say this??) Is sooo handsome , my favourite one in this group.
When I look at Monsieur Macron , I just forget that this Is a fashion- centred blog.
He Is captivating, no matter what he wears and eats😂
      The king: perfection fashion- wise.

Love Queen Camilla’s pink outfit. Her usual style, which she knows suits her, but a different colour from her usual. She looks great. Mme Macron looks elegant and sophisticated as usual. And what great shoes for a lady in her late 60s ( not ageist just jealous!) I like both evening gowns but Mme Macron is definitely my favourite Because it’s dark, Queen Camilla’s cape and flowing skirt has a bit of the witch vibe, I feel. Her hair, make up and jewellery are fantastic

Pretty in pink and lovely in blue--QC looks terrific in both her day and evening outfits. Mme Macron also looks marvelous in both of her outfits too. I like the jeweled belt, collar, and cuffs on Mme Macron's gown--they are beautiful touches. I also like them as a way to add some dazzle to her gown since QC is wearing those stunning sapphires.

Hideous is what you write here. And stupid too. First, you cannot know if it is a wig, this is why it is hideous. Second, to think that Madame cannot or will not have the best wig one can have (that is, if she needed one at all), is simply horrendously stupid.

Camilla looked perfect in the pink outfit. State dinner - her jewelry and hair+makeup were perfect. The silhouette of the Dior robe does not favour her body shape. The dress without the cape is the right cut for her, especially if it was with some ornaments or embroidery. She has faired much better before.
Mdm. Macron wore her usual style, it would have been nice to see something else for a change. She'd look definitely better with shorter hair and with shorter or no breton covering her face.

      What is a “breton?”

      Delete
    2. A Breton is a striped top which has horizontal navy and white stripes, usually on a long-sleeved cotton top or 'T' shirt.
It is like the striped top a sailor wears.
From its humble beginnings the Breton has become a ‘must have’ in the French fashion world.
Breton is a word originating from the region in north west France called Brittany.

    3. Anonymous22/9/23 01:27

@Deadeggs - I’m familiar with that definition, and also know that a Breton can be someone from Brittany. But, given the context of the post I queried, I don’t think either works - “she’d look better with shorter or no breton covering her face.” Bangs (a/k/a “fringe”), maybe?

  20. What a great look on QC for both occasions. Also, Mme. Macron looks fantastic as well, but I always find something not to like in her outfits. This time I don't care much about the dog-collar on her evening gown. Pity that QC couldn't be bothered with wearing a tiara, it would have looked dazzling in the Palace of Versailles. She did wear one for visiting Germany, and Schloss Bellevue is not even nearly as grand as Versailles. So it's an odd choice, imho, not to don a tiara this time.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Reply to myself: I'm sorry for insisting on a tiara! I didn't properly watch and only noticed after I posted that it was a black tie, not a white tie, event. Regardless - it's a bummer that the dresscode was a little more lowkey.

  23. I’ve seen a photo of the table setting. Wow. And the decor in the Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles double Wow.
My first reaction was to remind me that I must change the stained tablecloth on my kitchen table.
The porcelain in the setting is from the French manufacturer, SĂšvres which commenced in the 18th century and is owned by the French crown or government since 1759.
The menu was three courses plus cheese. In France they have the cheese course before the dessert. The menu was 100% French with each dish being created by a different French chef.
Four glasses for each setting which indicates there were 3 wines and I assume the 4th glass was for water.
Flower arrangements were in low bowls which didn’t inhibit the view of other guests.

Beautiful outfits and good tailoring on Queen Camilla and Ms. Macron. Although, Camilla looks better in a richer color than that baby pink.
Big no - the outfit of Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne - her pink jacket has a strange cut and does not fit her well, the skirt is too short.

I like it, especially the hat! Her evening styling is equally fantastic. I'm personally not the biggest fan of the dress itself, but it suits her and that jewellery is *chef's kiss*.

Madame Macron and Queen Camilla look lovely and elegant in their evening slate blue evening attire. Camilla 's pink outfit is by far, the best outfit I have ever seen her wear. Attractive hat, without being over the top. She should put weights in her skirts for airport arrival and departures. That was a lesson from Queen Elizabeth to Kate years ago. That is a simple, common sense solution for royalty to manage. The gray suede shoes are a marked improvement over her more dull pumps. And a nice choice avec the pink. Madame Macron looks lovely. She has a beautiful figure and dresses so elegantly. She appears to be very gracious to the Queen.

Just fantastic for both ladies I want both outfits. Q Camilla is a showstopper at Versailles and the jewels wow. The pink ensemble Camilla is wearing with the gray combo shoes and bag yes, Mme Macron's navy outfit is stunning, but then she always is looking great. css

  30. The pink outfit is nice, but predictable.
The blue gown looks lovely on Queen Camilla, but too much fabric, possibly from the cape. The gown does have some embellishments, but it needs something to make the gown come more alive, something more of a contrast than the Navy trim. The diamonds and Sapphires look divine.
President Macron looks beautifully groomed, his daytime suit is impeccable, perfect fit as is his nighttime tux. There is nothing nicer than seeing a man well groomed and attired properly, meaning perfect fit of clothes.
Mrs. Macon looks beautifully groomed. Her clothes are the perfect fit.
