  1. Just a link with the previous item about Stephanie ... Here you see GrD Maria-Teresa wearing wide trousers, and both currently have a rather similar figure. I prefer Stephanie's pants! And her hair styling doesn't really look fresh.

@MaryT These are certainly not what I was talking about! I was talking about trousers such as the ones Maxima and Mathilde wear. I think they would give her body balance. I know that we don't agree, and that is fine. ~d

    2. Hi -d, I think it would be a pity not to clarify our minds about pants categories for women, since we are on a fashion blog.
GD Maria Teresa wears according to me "wide" pants, the next category (Mathilde, Maxima) often wear "straight" pants, ie the more classic. Next come the "skinny" and "ultra skinny". And this list is not exhaustive since if you look to sales catalogues or lists, you will also come across "cigarette" or "carrot" pants... I think that agreeing on the 3 major categories could help us. Yes, I don't like the "wide" ones, just a personal opinion. And I don't like the pants which are cleaning the streets...

  2. Le port de ce pantalon trop large et long n'avantage pas la petite silhouette de Maria Teresa surtout qu'elle porte des chaussures plates et de plus, ce genre de blouson Ă  martingale

  3. The lady in white and the lady in the leopard print skirt and black jacket look very chic. The grand duchess looks too casual compared to the others present, and I don't much are for her navy jacket and black pants.

The Grand Duchess looks great, she has so much more charme than her DIL! Nice that they went out for this after they got their first Covid shot earlier in the day.

  5. I think this is a chic look for GD Maria Teresa. She is probably limited in her footwear due to the surgeries she's had, and the wide leg trousers help hide the fact she can't wear the most fashionable footwear. I'm on the fence normally about blue and black together, but I like the jacket here, nothing too stuffy. I'm probably one of the few that finds her short hair flattering on her, just seems to suit her.

    1. I like the GD look too. She's clearly working and focused on meeting the artist, being able to stand and move around the exhibit after her surgery, she's not so much making a "public appearance" perhaps, which seems right for such an important retrospective. (If the lady in the killer animal skirt had ditched the black tights and granny sweater she'd have stolen the Show!)

Maria Teresa's outfit doesn't fit in with the rest of the group. She is definitely too casual. The sneakers have brought it down to that level. Maybe she had somewhere else to go afterwards? I was brought up that blue and black should not be worn together, but those "rules" no longer exist. It is hard to decide if it looks alright when that rule is always in the back of your head. I don't mind it. Her pants look incredibly comfortable, but I don't think this was the right place to wear them. These are very big, and they are hard to wear for the slimmest, tallest figure. With so much volume on the bottom, these pants call for a very close fitting top. Upon second look, the first picture makes me wonder if this is a jumpsuit. In any case, I like her jacket very much, but I would like to see it with an outfit where it could be the standout piece. ~d

With her wealth, she could afford dark colored trainers/tennis shoes, rather than the light colored ones that do not go with the outfit. I know she has had surgeries on her feet, but its not that much to get a pair of navy or black tennis shoes. The rest of her outfit looks chic, appropriate for the occasion. cali

    1. Maybe she's more smart than rich, not buying shoes she will wear a few times, instead she is focused with the people she is meeting and their accomplishment.

    3. I agree that she could afford a pair of black trainers which would have lengthen her silhouette. The pale pink trainers point out to her small height. Further colour matching trainers wouldn't have given that casual impression of her outfit. The mix of black and navy does not flatter her.
