On March 17, 2021, Dutch Princess Beatrix and Princess Mabel participated in the online presentation of the seventh Prince Friso Engineering Award. Engineers who distinguish themselves in expertise, innovative capacity, social impact and entrepreneurship are eligible for the Prince Friso Engineering Award. Winner of the Prince Friso Engineering Award is Dr David Fernandez Rivas.
The prize is awarded annually by the Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI), but this is the first time that it has been named after the prince, who died in 2013. Prince Friso was a member of the KIVI and was also a graduate engineer in mechanical and aerospace engineering. The naming of the award after him is a result of ties of many years’ standing between the royal family and KIVI.
Quel plaisir de revoir la princesse Mabel qui est toujours aussi ravissante mais il est dommage de ne pas voir entièrement la tenue qu'elle porte ainsi que celle de la princesse Beatrix lumineuse dans ce rouge très fleuri en prévision du printemps !
