King Frederik and Queen Mary Attend Easter High Mass at Holmens Church

On Easter morning, April 20, 2025, King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark attended High Mass at Holmens Church in central Copenhagen. The service was conducted by Provost Birgitte Kvist Poulsen. The Danish Royal House shared photos of the King and Queen arriving at the church on the royal family's social media, accompanied by the caption “Happy Easter.”

The music for the Easter service was provided by Holmens Church’s esteemed organist and cantor, Court Organist Jakob Lorentzen. Holmens Kantori, together with opera singer Jens-Christian Wandt, performed pieces including “PĂĽskeblomst! hvad vil du her”, along with the hymns “Som forĂĽrssolen morgenrød” and “Christ stod op af Døde.”

    I don‘t understand this look. Denmark is very liberal, still, the queen should give Easter a certain degree of dignity. It is not about coloured Easter eggs but about the death of Jesus. The coat is fine, no problem, the rest, inappropriate.
