On June 29, 2019, Queen Margrethe of Denmark visited Hvidsten town to attend the memorial service held in connection with the 75th anniversary of the execution of eight members of the resistance group Hvidsten Group (Hvidstengruppens) in Ryvangen, North of Copenhagen. The Hvidsten Group (Hvidstengruppen) was a Danish resistance group during World War II. On March 11, 1944, the majority of the group were arrested by the Gestapo. Eight of its members were sentenced to death on June 26 and executed in Ryvangen on June 29, 1944. |

On June 20, Crown Princess Mary visited Danish Heart Foundation (Hjerteforeningen) and the Children's Heart Foundation (Børnehjertefonden) in order to get information about ongoing activites and and the association's efforts for the children. The Crown Princess also viewed to the children's book, "Something on the Heart", which is published to help children and their families. Crown Princess Mary is the patron of Danish Heart Foundation which is the second biggest patient organization of Denmark. The Foundation is a non-profit organization and it was founded back in 1962. |
Queen Maxima visited Hoogeveen for the agreement 'More Music in the Classroom'
On June 20, 2019, Dutch Queen Maxima visited Hoogeveen city within the scope of ‘’More music in the classroom’’ programme. The Queen attended a meeting at De Tamboer Theater in Drenthe and signed an agreement with local partners, which is related to giving more music education in schools. The agreement includes commitments on formalizing of music education to be given to children in all primary schools in Drenthe in the next years. The Queen is the honorary president of "More music in the classroom" (Meer Muziek in de Klas) programme. Afterwards, The Queen visited the mobile workshop of the Leerorkest Instrumentendepot in Hoogeveen. |
King Harald and Queen Sonja's visit to Hordaland county
King Harald and Queen Sonja visited Hordaland county this year as part of the Royal tour made traditionally with the Royal Ship every year. Hordaland is a county in Norway, which borders Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Telemark, and Rogaland counties. Hordaland visit began with a visit to Jondal municipality on June 18. After their visit to Jondal, the Royal Couple visited Odda municipality. On the second day of their tour in Hordaland county, on June 19, the Royal Couple visited Granvin and Ulvik municipalities. Today, King Harald and Queen Sonja visited Askøy municipality. |
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa received representatives of LCTO at Grand Ducal Palace
On June 19, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa received representatives of the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) at Grand Ducal Palace. In her capacity as President of the Foundation of the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess, the Grand Duchess received a check amounting to €38,734.38, corresponding to the net profit of the guided tours for the 2018 season. This year, the profit donated to the Foundation will be used for the projects of "Stand Speak Rise Up!", which aim to prevent sexual violence. |
Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and Oscar visited Söderåsen National Park in Skåne
On June 17, Monday, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and Prince Oscar visited Skäralid Natural Playground in Söderåsen National Park in Skåne. Skäralid Playground was built in Prince Oscar's name in connection with the christening of Prince Oscar, the Duke of Skåne. Prince Oscar's Playground consists of a path with tools, stations and obstacles. The playground was built by the County Administrative Board in Skåne County with support from private individuals, companies and some municipalities in the province.
