Dagmar von Arbin passed away at the age of 103

On December 22, 2019, Dagmar von Arbin, née Countess Dagmar Bernadotte af Wisborg, passed away at the age of 103 at Nockebeyhemmet nursing home. Born on 10 April 1916, Countess Dagmar Ebba Märta Marianne Bernadotte af Wisborg was the eldest of the four children born to Count Carl Bernadotte af Wisborg and his first wife, Baroness Marianne De Geer af Leufsta. She was a great-granddaughter of King Oscar II of Sweden and of Norway and thus a second cousin of King Carl XVI Gustaf’s father and used to often attend Swedish royal family events.

Japan's Princess Kako turned 25 on Sunday. Princess Kako, (born 29 December 1994) is the second daughter of Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko, and a member of the Japanese Imperial Family. On the occasion of that birthday, Imperial Household Agency of Japan released new photos of Princess Kako. Kensington Palace released new photos of the Duchess of Cambridge

On December 25, 2019, Infanta Cristina, Inaki Urdangarin and their children Irene, Pablo, Miguel and Juan attended Christmas Day Service in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Inaki Urdangarin is serving a five-year, 10-month prison sentence at the Brieva penitentiary in Álava province for his involvement in a scandal known as the Nóos case. Inaki, the brother-in-law of Spanish King Felipe VI, spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with his family after being granted a four-day leave by prison authorities.

Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited the northeastern Japan prefectures of Miyagi and Fukushima to offer encouragement to people affected by deadly Typhoon Hagibis in mid-October. The typhoon ripped through a wide area of Japan, leaving more than 90 people dead. On December 26, the Emperor and the Empress arrived in Miyagi Prefecture. The Emperor and the Empress of Japan talked to victims of Typhoon at temporary housing in Marumori. This is their first visit to a disaster-hit area since the emperor's enthronement in May.

Japanese Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako and Princess Aiko visited Nissho Hall in Tokyo to watch a Japanese animation film called "This Corner (and Other Corners) of the World" directed by Sunao Katabuchi. The film was screened in aid of the Japanese Red Cross Society of Hiroshima Prefecture and depicts wartime daily lives of citizens in Hiroshima. The film is an extended cut of the hit 2016 animation film "In This Corner of the World" about a young woman in 1930s-1940s in Hiroshima and Kure.

On December 20, 2019, Queen Margrethe II received new officers of the Royal Danish Air Force at Christian IX's Palace in Amalienborg. The Queen presented "H.M. Queen's Honorary Dagger" (H.M. Queen Elizabeth arrived in Norfolk to begin her Christmas holiday

On December 20, Queen Elizabeth II arrived at King's Lynn railway station in Norfolk, after travelling from London at the start of her traditional Christmas break, which will be spent on the Royal estate at Sandringham. The Duke of Edinburgh had been staying on the Queen’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Today, the Duke has been admitted to hospital in London on the advice of his doctor as a precautionary measure relating to a pre-existing condition. The duke is expected to remain in hospital for a few days.

On December 19, 2019, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar visited Katarina Church (Katarina kyrka) in Södermalm. As they do every year before Christmas, Swedish Crown Princess Family published their new family photos and video with the title "Merry Christmas" and congratulated everybody's Christmas. Crown Princess Mary visited Kræftværket Rigshospitalet

On December 18, 2019, Crown Princess Mary visited Kræftværket at Rigshospitalet (National hospital) in Copenhagen. Kræftværket is a meeting place for young people with cancer in the age between 15-29 being treated at the Rigshospitalet. Crown Princess Mary met with some of the young people who take advantage of Kræftværket’s activities. Crown Princess Mary is Patron of the Danish Cancer Society.

Queen Rania took part in Christmas celebrations in Fuhais

Queen Rania of Jordan took part in Christmas celebrations with the residents of Fuhais at the town’s annual Christmas market. There, the Queen spoke with members of the local community and looked at the various holiday items possible in the town. Fuhais is a town in the governorate of Balqa of Jordan and is located 15 kilometers northwest of Amman. The town has a population of 20.000 and majority of the town is Christian.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's 2019 Christmas Card has been shared online by McCafferty. The Duchess sent a card to Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty. The photo of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis was tweeted by Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty, who seemed to have received one of the cards. The Duchess became patron of the RAF Air Cadets in December 2016. She took over the patronage from the Duke of Edinburgh, who has held the position for 63 years. Queen Maxima attended TV recording of the Christmas Music Gala

On December 18, 2019, Dutch Queen Maxima, honorary president of More Music in Classroom platform, attended TV recording of the Christmas Music Gala 2019 at IJsselhallen in Zwolle. The gala involved performances by the largest school band in the Netherlands consisting of children from all provinces.
