The Home Guard’s 70th anniversary was celebrated with a parade at Nymindegab Camp in Norre Nebel, Denmark where the Home Guard School is located. Danish Crown Princess Mary was promoted to Captain of the Guard at the 70th anniversary at Nymindegab. The Home Guard is a volunteer military organization. Nearly 15 percent of all volunteer soldiers are women.

Princess Eugenie attended the premiere of Sharkwater Extinction film in Hong Kong

On March 28, Princess Eugenie of York were in Hong Kong to host a special premiere screening of "Sharkwater Extinction" film to support the work of Project 0 and the Rob Stewart Sharkwater Foundation. The Princess met with Canadian filmmaker Rob Stewart's family, that is, Sandy and Brian Stewart to emphasize the effects of illegal fishing industry on the environment. Filmmaker Rob Stewart, who is also a biologist, a conservationist and an activist, tragically died during the filming of the project aged just 37, in an oxygen-related dive accident. Crown Princess Victoria's 18th hiking took place in Härjedalen

On March 29, 2019, Friday, Crown Princess Victoria's 18th hiking through Sweden's landscape took place in Vemdalen known for its beautiful mountains. The Crown Princess's day in Härjedalen began with a visit to Vemdalen's school. There, the Crown Princess met with the students. After lunch, the Crown Princess began hiking together with students and the general public. The start was at the railway station. The trip went first along the 7.5 kilometer track to Röjån and then turned to the left and followed the river in beautiful nature towards Fallmoran. Afterwards, waffles and hot chocolate were served in a hunting lodge. Shortly after 4 pm, the tour continued 3 kilometers downhill back to Vemdalsskalet where the hiking ended.

Seoul visit of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, final day

King Philippe of Belgium and Queen Mathilde of Belgium started the fourth and final day of their state visit to South Korea with a visit to the Jeon Jin Sang Medical Centre. The centre was founded in 1975 by Belgian Dr. Marie-Helene Brasseur and provides medical and palliative care to the local population and also helps low income people in south-west Seoul, South Korea. Afterwards, the King and the Queen attended the official opening of the Belgian Life Festival. The festival is co-hosted by the Flemish Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, the local government, and the Belgian Food Industry Association and will continue until March 30. The festival showcases Belgian food, beverages, music, diamonds and arts.

Princess Marie opened renovated Galeries Lafayette in Paris

On March 28, 2019, Danish Princess Marie officially opened Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées store in Paris, which has been designed and renovated by Danish architect group BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group. The new Galeries Lafayette on the Champs-Élysées is located in one of the avenue's earliest art deco buildings. Danish Crown Princess Mary visited Ethiopia in order to see on site the activities carried out for SDG5 (Sustainable Development Goal 5). On March 27, Wednesday, The Crown Princess arrived in Shire city in Tigray region where the largest refugee population in Ethiopia resides. At the refugee camp, The Crown Princess visited a local high school (9th grade, 10th grade). The school was established in 2016 with the contributions of Danish Refugee Council. The Crown Princess planted a tree with Minister of Development in front of the school. The Crown Princess then visited a house which provides protection for unaccompanied children in refugee camps in Tigray.

Queen Margrethe visited Jujuy Province in Northern Argentina

After her state visit to Argentina, Queen Margrethe spent a couple of private days in Jujuy Province in Northern Argentina. Here, The Queen stayed in the town of Purmamarca, which is at the foot of The Hill of Seven Colors (Cerro de los Siete Colores). During the stay, The Queen visited Dr. Eduardo Casanova Archaeological Museum in Tilcara and the Pucará de Tilcara archaeological site. The Pucará de Tilcara was declared a National Monument in 2000. During the visit, archaeologist Maria Ester Albeck, who is of Danish origin, accompanied The Queen.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia arrived in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Spanish King Felipe and Queen Letizia are currently making a 3 day State visit to Argentina. On March 24, 2019, The King and Queen of Spain arrived in Buenos Aires. The official program will begin with a welcoming ceremony to be held at Casa Rosada Presidential Palace on the morning of March 25. Spanish King Felipe and Queen Letizia will be welcomed by Argentina's President Mauricio Macri and his wife Juliana Awada. The King and Queen will go to Cordoba city on March 27 and there, they will attend the opening of the 8th International Congress of Spanish Language (CILE).

Before departing Barbados, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attended a Church Service at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Bridgetown, Barbados. The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will visit Cuba’s capital, Havana, on March 24. This will be the first official visit by a member of The Royal Family to Cuba. Their Royal Highnesses will pay an official visit to the Cayman Islands on March 27.

Afterwards, The Prince and The Duchess visited the House of Chocolate where they learn about the history of the cocoa industry in Grenada. On March 20, The Countess of Wessex attended a charity reception of Wellbeing of Women and The Urology Foundation at Working Title Films building, Aybrook in London. Wellbeing of Women is Britain's leading charity finding cures and treatments in women's health since 1964. In addition, on March 22, the Countess of Wessex attended a reception at Guildford Cathedral, to celebrate the Womens Royal Army Corps Association's 100 year anniversary. On March 22, 2019, King Philippe, Queen Mathilde, Princess Astrid, Prince Lorenz and Prince Laurent of Belgium attended Cardinal Godfried Danneels's funeral service held at the Cathedral of Saint-Rombaut in Mechelen. Cardinal Godfried Danneels, who led the Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels from 1979 to 2010, died on March 14, 2019 at his home at Malines. Cardinal Godfried Danneels was 85.

On March 22, 2019, Crown Princess Victoria visited Henriksdal wastewater treatment plant and Brunnsviken. Henriksdal wastewater treatment plant is located on the boundary between Stockholm and Nacka, approximately 2km from Slussen, Sweden. The facility is operated by Stockholm Vatten (the Stockholm Water Company), and it is one of the world’s biggest underground wastewater treatment plants.

Princess Kako graduated from International Christian University

Princess Kako, a granddaughter of Japan's Emperor Akihito, graduated from International Christian University in Tokyo. The younger daughter of Prince and Princess Akishino wore a black gown and mortarboard for the graduation ceremony on Friday. Princess Kako was among more than 500 students of the College of Liberal Arts who attended the school's graduation ceremony at a campus chapel. The Princess also studied performing arts and psychology as an exchange student at a British university for about nine months.

Imperial family members attended a concert at Tōkagakudō

On March 20, 2019, Imperial family members, that is, Empress Michiko, Crown Prince Naruhito, Crown Princess Masako, Prince Akishino, Princess Kiko, Princess Mako and Princess Kako attended a concert given by music university graduates at the Tōkagakudō Concert Hall in the Imperial Palace East Garden. Empress Kojun started the annual concert to increase performance opportunities to music graduates. This year, 12 alumni from 5 universities, such as Tokyo University of the Arts and Ueno Gakuen University gave piano, violin, and solo soprano performances. Tōkagakudō "Peach Blossom Music Hall" was built to commemorate Empress Kojun's 60th birthday and was completed in 1966.

Today, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa turned 63. Maria Teresa was born on March 22, 1956 in Marianao, Havana, Cuba, from families of Spanish descent. The Duchess met Luxembourgian Prince Henri at Geneva University. It was announced that they got engaged on November 7, 1980. In 1981, on Valentine's Day, Maria Teresa got married to Grand Duke heir Prince Henri. From that marriage, she had four sons and a daughter: Prince Guillaume, Prince Felix, Prince Louis ,Princess Alexandra and Prince Sebastian. Happy birthday to you, The Grand Duchess.
