July 2, 2019 was the 60th anniversary (diamond wedding) of the marriage of former Belgian King Albert II and Queen Paola. On the occasion of that anniversary, King Albert's and Queen Paola's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren got together for a celebration. Japanese Princess Mako is making a 10 day official visit to Peru and Bolivia on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of beginning of the Japanese migration to South American countries. On July 9, The Princess departed from Narita Airport to go to Peru. According to Japan's Foreign Affairs Ministry, there are approximately 4,000 Japanese residents in the Inca nation, Peru.

NIAB is a plant science research company based in Cambridge. The Queen then visited Queen’s College. Afterwards, The Queen officially opened the new Royal Papworth Hospital, accompanied by The Duchess of Gloucester. During her visit to the new hospital, The Queen met with staff and patients and in addition, she saw some of the state-of-the-art facilities at the world-leading heart and lung hospital.

Queen Sonja opened International Chamber Music Festival

Queen Sonja of Norway attended the official opening of The Lofoten International Chamber Music Festival on Monday. The festival marks the 15th anniversary this year, and the Queen was present during the opening concert at Lofoten Kulturhus in Svolvær. Doric String Quartet from England and Trio Con Brio Copenhagen from Denmark are in the festival. The festival, which held between July 8 - 13, has a total of 22 events.

This year's awardees were AMÁS Social Foundation, Almagro Classic International Theater Festival Foundation and director Javier Fesser with the film Champions (Campeones). The film tells the story of a basketball coach who is sentenced to community service and is forced to work with a team of mentally disabled players.
