The meeting was connected to events surrounding the 42nd National Conference for Traditional Craft Products Month and the 50th anniversary ceremony of the Association for the Promotion of Traditional Craft Industries, both of which Princess Kako had been scheduled to attend last November. However, after she was forced to cancel her attendance due to a COVID-19 infection, the meeting was arranged at a later date.
