On February 17, 2026, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the institutional ceremony entitled “Our Longest-Lived Constitution,” held at the Congress of Deputies in Madrid to mark the 47th anniversary of the entry into force of the 1978 Constitution. Following the ceremony, the King and Queen inaugurated an exhibition at the Exhibition Hall.

The exhibition, “The Spanish Constitution of 1978,” features the original copy of the Constitution, as well as the copies used during the oath-taking ceremonies of the then Prince of Asturias in 1986 and the Princess of Asturias in 2023. The copy used at the Proclamation of His Majesty the King is also on display, together with other documents preserved by the Archives of the Congress and a selection of images from the constitutional process and the 47 years since its promulgation.

The peplum jacket is a lovely fit, length of skirt is perfect, everything in proportion.

Agreed! She gets the proportions just right, which can be harder for shorter stature and low heels. And her husband, as usual, is dressed impeccable as well. Beautiful couple

Anon 22:46.. Letizia is not "short stature", she is 1,70...you can see people around her...the thing IS her husband is a giant..1,97...almost 2 metres tall.

A really beautiful suit. Perfect fit, perfect style and perfect length. Others may disagree, but to me the Queen is always dressed fittingly for the occasion. Whether it may be a formal one like today or informal where her strong sense of fashion comes to the fore and often includes something modern or fun.

  3. Belle allure dans ce tailleur bleu-nuit ; il me semble qu’elle a retrouvé une petite hauteur de talons sans que ce soit des escarpins !

  5. The navy suit is in a classic, timeless style and it fits beautifully. However, Letizia has an uncanny knack of making her outfits dull. I wish she would have accessorized the suit with a whimsical scarf or pearl brooch.

I agree with you, the classic suit is beautiful, but she is the queen and should give her outfits a little bit of sparkle. The role of queen consort is a profession and involves hard work, right down to the sartorial obligations.

Hi Virginia, the “sartorial obligations” are straight out of fairy tales and not reality! It’s fun for us to see some bling but it is not true that she has obligations sartorially except for certain special traditional events. I agree however that the role is hard work, and I love Letizia’s approach - including her clothes choices and choosing not to wear pricey outfits all of the time and to downplay jewellery too. For her country at this time I think she has it just right.

Sartorial obligations..🙃 with only a salary for living...she gets 144.00 euros per year to live...her husband 262.000...and they must pay taxes...and there is not a budget for clothing...they have two children...and they have not properties ata all..this IS not UK.

    4. A scarf or pearl brooch is not expensive. I'm sure they could afford it even on their budget. It doesn't have to be an Hermes or Chanel.

  7. This Navy suit looks splendid. The fit is perfect, the style suits her beautifully. I feel its a little on the bland side. A pearl brooch, with similar earrings, a colorful subtle silk scarf. Her hair appears lack lustre, I don't normally mention or comment on her hair, but I have noticed it the last few times. I'm not sure if the bag is Navy or black same with her shoes?

      Hello, Ava.
I read it is a " Magrit Mica" bag in navy.
I noticed that lack of lustre in the Queen's hair, too.
I think that glowy hair can depend on many factors , i e.the products used , especially the " shiny drops" , which can be applied to round off the styling sometimes.
Q.Letizia might have skipped this final touch intentionally as these drops tend to 'droop' the hair texture (a hairdresser once told me).
      Hugs!!

Sandra pointed out that Queen Letizia could enliven her lovely suit by adding some accessories and I agree. Sartorial obligations in high office apply to diplomats, royals etc. and are part of their role and have nothing to do with fairy tales. Here we have a queen who could rectify a certain dullness, to quote, by
doing the aforesaid. Has nothing to do with pricey outfits or overexpenditure.

The Queen is aptly dressed for this institutional event.
Right colour, immaculate fit, minimalistic jewellery.
The King is perfectly groomed as well.
