On February 13, 2026, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia visited the exhibition “In Memoriam Tomás y Valiente. 1996–2026”, marking the 30th anniversary of his assassination by the terrorist group ETA. The King and Queen then presided over the ceremony organised by the Autonomous University of Madrid in tribute to the jurist and professor Tomás y Valiente.

Tomás y Valiente Week is taking place from Wednesday 11 to Saturday 14 February 2026 and includes a range of academic and cultural activities intended to keep alive the memory and values embodied by Francisco Tomás y Valiente. Tomás y Valiente was a Spanish jurist, historian, and writer. He was Professor of Legal History at the Autonomous University of Madrid and presided over Spain's Constitutional Court from 1986 to 1992. He was assassinated by ETA in 1996.

    Here she is in her nun's dress again which I don't like at all. Even if there is a solemn part during the visit, one of her black pant suits plus black shirt would be better than this.

    Wenn mir eine Frau einfällt, dann ist es Madame Macron die für dieses Kleid wie geschaffen wäre. An der Königin Letizia gefällt es mir absolut nicht. Die Königin hätte hier ihre Haare zu einem strengen Knoten binden sollen. Im Gesamtbild drückt sie von Scheitel bis zu den Stiefelsohlen alles nieder. Neben ihrem Mann wirkt das für meine Augen sehr gedrungen. - Dorothe -

    Well geez one rude comment there. It's a pretty dress and it seems very appropiate for a solemn occasion. Altho in one picture she appears to be wearing boots and in another shoes? I like the shoes better but the King and Queen looks so somber at this event it really distracts from the clothes.
