On November 21, 2025, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, Infanta Sofía and Queen Sofia of Spain attended the presentation of the Order of the Golden Fleece at the Royal Palace in Madrid. King Felipe bestowed the Collar of the Order upon Queen Sofía for her dedication and commitment in the service of Spain. Felipe González, Miguel Herrero, Rodríguez de Miñón, and Miquel Roca Junyent were also decorated.
In 1985, King Juan Carlos granted the Order of the Golden Fleece for the first time to reigning queens: Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and Queen Margrethe of Denmark. In 1989, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom received the distinction.
King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, Infanta Sofía, and Queen Sofía also attended a ceremony at the Spanish Parliament marking the 50th anniversary of Spain’s democratic transition. Spain’s government announced 480 new events to be held before the end of the year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Francisco Franco and the restoration of democracy.
Well first off Letizia should not of worn the same colour outfit as the former Queen, she knew full well the significance of the colour. Having said that the suit fits her well, not crazy about the ‘80’s shoulders. Queen Sofia looks dignified and elegant in the dress and jacket. Leonor and Sofia look lovely. The king as always in a perfect fitting suit.
ردحذفA current queen outranks a former queen, so it should be the other way around, if it is important that they not wear the same color. How do you know that Letizia knew what the former queen would wear? I haven't seen anything about that.

حذفWell, it would be the opposite; it's an event where several people were honored, presided over by the queen, the king, and their daughters, so the one who "could" choose the color would be the queen, Letizia.
حذفThe suit does nothing for a vibrant butterfly like Letizia. However. sometimes it is obvious that a color of the day is chosen. At the second event one of the presenters was wearing the exact shade of pink.

حذفQueen Sofia wore a pink dress 70 years ago, so the colour had special meaning for her. Interesting Letizia does not have this honour bestowed on her. Sad that protocol beats out graciousness.

حذفUnfortunately the pictures are taken from quite a distance so it's difficult to see Letizia's suit. If I am correct it looks like the pink Carolina Herrerra embroidered puff sleeve jacket and matching skirt that she wore in Italy last year. It's a beautifully tailored and elegant suit and the embroidered details are exquisite. It's great to see it again. I was struck by Sofia's jacket. It's a very unusual and contemporary design the way it flares at the bottom.

حذفI think this is the best Q Sophia has looked in a long time. This gown is timeless and elegant in its simplicity. She is not wearing loads of jewelry like she usually does, but kept her accessories simple and elegant as well. She is my favorite this time. I think Letizia's outfit is overwhelming on her. I saw it on the runway and I think it looked better there. The shoulders and sleeves were played up and it made a big impression as it should when being shown at a fashion show. I don't think this translates as well off the runway. Sofia's style has really emerged. She likes interesting cuts and wears them well. It is difficult for these young ladies to find things to wear that are age appropriate. They usually end up dressing too old, but Sofia has figured it out. Good for her! Leonor has found a suit that works well for her age. It has a generous cut, making it the perfect balance between a very fitted and oversized. She has made this outfit more youthful by the addition of fun shoes.

Was a bit disappointed by PS's attire when I saw Pic.1 - the jacket looked like a very casual off-shoulder knitted top. The design is interesting, at a closer range, bit is doesn't photograph well, and at the same picture with other ladies she looks underdressed for the occasion, IMHO

Too deep for …? I think Leonor looks absolutely lovely and very apt. No problems with a neckline. Sofia not dressed down; lovely outfit, beautiful hair, a young woman growing up very graciously.
