Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan arrived in Kyoto Prefecture on Saturday, October 4, 2025, to attend the annual meeting of the 22nd Science and Technology in Society Forum. The Emperor and Empress visited the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Gardens in Kyoto City, where they viewed plants such as orchids displayed in the greenhouse.
On October 5, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended the opening ceremony of the 22nd annual meeting of the Science and Technology in Society Forum at the Kyoto International Conference Center, where the Emperor delivered remarks. On October 6, the Emperor and Empress visited the site of the Osaka-Kansai Expo in Yumeshima, Osaka, where they toured facilities including the United Nations Pavilion.

ReplyDeleteI love the pant suit and beautiful scarf on the Empress. The gold suit and hat are more “typical” for her, but I am curious about the fabric of this jacket and skirt. They almost look to be velour or some sort of upholstery fabric. The colour is lovely on her and the tailoring as impeccable as ever, but it looks stiff and heavy to me.
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow jacket. Not so much the jacket as the design. Would happily adopt same in a light blue or black. Wondering if her beautiful scarf in the first pictures is hand painted … probably.

DeleteI love both of Masako's outfits here. The pink trouser suit with that beautiful silk scarf (it looks hand painted) is particularly fetching. Masako wears trouser suits very well.

Beautiful scarf. When the Empress walks, you can see the point of the slightly baggy cut of the skirt. I can imagine that no body contours should be seen so that ample space is provided for all movements. Perhaps some blogger knows more?
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely couple. The Emperor so human and simple, no longer "godlike" as former emperors were believed to be and the Empress smiling and interested, no longer depressed as she was for many years.
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits suit her so well. I particularly like the buttons and sleeves on the yellow outfit. I am surprised that the kings jacket in the first picture that the lapels don’t look flat. Seems to have a slight ripple, like the iron on interfacing is not adhering to the fabric properly.

大きくデザインされたこの花は、花を開いたチューリップのようにも見えますけれど、どうでしょうね。
HM knows how to elevate a look. The dusty rose pant suit is lovely as a stand alone,but with the colorful scarf and a darker lipstick really takes the look up a notch.

The soft pale pink pantsuit looks divine. I love the colorful silk scarf she has casually draped down her jacket, this adds a splash of color and looks splendid. The pants are the perfect length, fit well. I like the color of her shoes and clutch. The gold suit and hat are smart and stylish, I like the additions of the white buttons on the cuffs of her sleeves and the bodice of her fitted jacket.
