New Photo of Crown Princess Mette-Marit Released to Mark Her 52nd Birthday
Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway turns 52 today. To mark the occasion, the Royal Palace released a new photo of the Crown Princess. The photo was taken when she visited Stavanger as part of the celebrations marking the city’s 900th anniversary. Crown Princess Mette-Marit was born Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby on 19 August 1973. She married Crown Prince Haakon of Norway in Oslo Cathedral on 25 August 2001.
DeleteI hope she find some joy and can celebrate today, despite this heavy period they're going through❤️

Me too, Sofia.
DeleteAgree.
DeleteI don’t mind the vest with the dress, but did not like it with the pants and blouse.
ReplyDeleteWill her son get 10 years in prison?
ReplyDeletelet’s just wish her a happy birthday today.
DeleteKeep up with the news and you will find out. Fashion wise what do you think
DeleteMM's birthday, congratulate her instead. Her son is an adult and makes his own decisions. Has nothing to do with MM.
DeleteQui êtes-vous Anonyme 19/8/2025 16:55 qui vous cachez sur ce blog de mode pour poser cette question ? c'est de la curiosité malsaine !!!
Delete@ Achard62
DeleteI entirely agree with you.
I wonder why such a nasty and off topic comment got past the filter.
Hideous and cruel words.
@ P the original - I don’t think this is hideous nor cruel, just (unfortunately) a question on many people’s minds this week when they think of the Norwegian royals. It’s not a fashion question but it’s not intended to be cruel either.

ReplyDeleteStop it!

Sadly, whoever posted the above comment (anonymous 19/08/25 20:40), is a very nasty person. The offspring is an adult, clearly thinking of one thing with various individuals. His decisions are not a reflection of bad parenting, but of a Narcisitic young man who only thinks of his male desires, and takes them. This is no reflection on his mother, and you are horrible to say something like you did. Shame on you!
DeleteWhat a terrible horrible thing to say about a mother!!!
DeleteI find your comment highly offensive.
DeleteOh my gosh what a horrible thing to say. This is an adult male who makes his own decisions, despite having been brought up properly. She is not responsible for his choices in life.
Delete20:40 should remember karma is a bitch. None of us are responsible for what our kids do. All we can do is support and help our family as best we can, and a little support and emphatic behaviour for our fellow human beings are never wrong if we just haven't the need to show the world what POS we really are.
DeleteWell said by those of you who commented in this thread. There but for the Grace of God go I etc. Let's be grateful for the good things in our lives instead of being nasty about the misfortune of other parents.
DeleteThank you, Helen, for removing that malicious comment.
DeleteI had already read it and it had left me speechless.
@ 20:40: Who are you to judge a mother so baselessly and cruelly?
Shame on you.
A happy 52nd Birthday to Mette Marit
ReplyDeletecss.
Not a birthday she’s likely to forget in a hurry! I fear next year might be as unpleasant for her. I remember someone telling me, ‘when your children are still babies they bring on headaches as they grow into adulthood they bring with them heartache! That’s what I feel for CP MM. She’s having to deal with it on public display! It’s all so very very sad.
ReplyDeleteLowri
@Lowri, if you think it's very, very sad why do you bring the issue here? You pretend to be emphathetic, but you enjoy making the point.
DeleteWhy can't we just talk about fashion here and now wish MM a very happy birthday (yesterday)? I'm sure she will be better off without the pretend emphaty of others.
@Zucchina - My comment is what it is,if you choose to see something else in my words,I think that says more about you than me! Unless I’ve broken blog rules,I won’t be lectured to by a complete stranger!
DeleteLowri.
Lowri, I'm sorry if my comment offended you.
DeleteHowever, this article is not about Marius, but about his mother's birthday. Non of us knows what her feelings are and how things will go now and in the future. I'm not lecturing anyone, just trying to be humane.
I agree with you Lowri. A fair reflection, well written. Zucchina - not fair at all to accuse her of not being empathetic when it’s an entirely empathetic reflection.
DeleteThis you must sign your name business is totally ridiculous, how do you even know if the person that signs there name that they are who they say they are. I chose to sign my name but for those who do not then that is there damn business. Virginia I have said this to you before (if you really are Virginia) let it go and just enjoy the comments. Will the real Virginia please stand up!
Delete@Fitzhugh. Excellent comment.
Delete@Zucchina - As was I. Comments can be misinterpreted or misconstrued,so wouldn’t it be far better to give people the benefit of the doubt, rather than feel the need to scold them. My words and sentiments were sincere,if I had meant something opposite to that, I would have said so. I didn’t,so I didn’t need to. I hope that clears the matter up.
DeleteLowri.
I think all of us reading the insulting post against beautiful Princess M-M are shocked and saddened. Helen, you should never have included that insulting post. I hold you responsible, as well as the ignorant person who wrote it. And I strongly believe if people can't attach a name to their comments, they should NOT be posted. Own up to what you say. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Princess Matte Marit. I admire your strength and fortitude. - Virginia Dogwood, an American lover of fashion.
ReplyDeleteThank you for standing up against hate. Hanging on hate-comments is
Deletespreading IT.
MESH
Dear Virginia D., The insulting post has now been removed. I am sure that Helen never wanted it to be published and something distracted her. I do agree with you that comments should be signed. We are responsible for our words, yes, but it is also very UNPLEASANT to write a signed comment to Anonymous, there is no inner connection, no real flow.
Delete🌞Virginia
Thank you, so much, @ Virginia Dogwood.
DeleteYour kind , wise words echo my thoughts exactly.
That's just why I- like you do- sign my own comments.
No matter to what extent I can be attacked by Anonymous through her ever- changing identities and shocking statements.
I stand up here, with my own nick impressed on my comments.
I am afraid of nothing and never will be.
And I typed the lovely Princess' name incorrectly - I know better and I apologize.
DeleteVirginia if that's your name. You are just as anonymous as the rest of us. Can we please stop with the sign your name comments. And agree a little grown up behaviour goes a long way. Sincerely Sarah.
DeleteThe comment from Anon 20:40 should be removed by the person responsible for this blog.
ReplyDeleteIn total agreement with you,
Delete@ Deadeggs.
What a disgusting comment.
Happy belated birthday to this brave, beautiful and resilient CP of Norway Mette - Marit!
ReplyDeleteMassor med styrkekramar till Mette-Marit! Sofia Blad
ReplyDeleteMy belated wish for a very Happy Birthday to Mette-Marit, the beautiful Crown Princess of Norway,
ReplyDeleteMay the love and support from those around her make it a super, happy day.
I often think of the wise words my old mum often said............
“enjoy and love your kids but be careful, being a parent is not always easy”.
p.s. thanks Helen for your work.
Det är inte lätt att vara förälder till ett problembarn, hon har all min sympati! Ridtjejen i Tryggestad
ReplyDeleteWell I am confused on this blog as to why only a few commented on the fashion choice in the photos. Instead commenting on an individual no one knows personally. I like the different styles this Princess chooses most of the time. I do like this long vest over a solid colour like when she wore it over a dress.
ReplyDelete@anon 15:34
DeleteI agree with you... I don't understand why everyone keeps replying to comments they don't agree with. In the end the majority of the comments are just replies that only feed the type of comments they don't want to see here. Endless replies saying "stay on topic", while it ironically keeps everything even more off topic... You see this on every Meghan-post too.
