On July 16, 2025, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, accompanied by Infanta Sofía, presided over the oath of allegiance to the Flag and the ceremony of awarding Royal Commissions and appointments to the new officers of the Spanish Navy. The ceremony took place at the Naval Academy in Marín. Princess Leonor received the Grand Cross of Naval Merit in recognition of the upcoming completion of her training at the Naval Military School.

These newly commissioned officers will take on command roles within the Navy's operational and support units — whether aboard ships or submarines, piloting fighter jets and helicopters of the Naval Aviation Flotilla. For the occasion, Queen Letizia wore a design by the Andalusian brand Vogana — a navy blue linen midi dress featuring a V-neckline and white fringe detailing. The dress is from the Spring-Summer 2024 collection.

  1. I applaud Vogana for originality and creativity. Letizia's dress is one of a kind.
Since I have eclectic tastes I do like it. It's a fun dress for summer. Maybe more on the casual side but I like how the vertical decoration on the neckline transitions into the horizontal tiers of the skirt. It has a Latin or Spanish flair to it especially when twirling or in motion. Once can imagine dancing the flamenco in this dress.

She looks very polished in her uniform as does the king. Her family is so proud of her accomplishment. The queens dress is very nice both in colour and fit. Sofia’s top fits well.

Queen Letizia's dress is very beautiful, but it fits the model better. I think Letizia's dress is a bit too wide for her. On the other hand the skirt of the dress looks wider on the model than on the queen. I don't know what it is, but there is something odd.
Infanta Sofia is wearing a white shirt or a blouse with an asymmetrical hemline on black trousers. Yesterday Princess Alexia wore a white shirt with one part tucked in her black skirt and one part not tucked in, which created an asymmetrical hemline. Is this fashion trend coming back ? A few years ago young people followed this trend too.

I see a difference with a shirt designed that way and half tucked in to create the same look. One looks neat the other very sloppy.

I LOVE the Vogana dress. Absolutely beautiful and beautiful colours for Letizia. When she’s finished with it, I’d be happy to take it on!

Letizia est charmante. Toujours des tenues qui sortent des chantiers battus.

Queen L as well as Sofia look quite good.
Leonor looks quite good, as far as this uniform allows it.

Letizia's dress is a class for itself, very strong design in all its simplicity, she looks fabulous (she does it anyway all the time). Sofía's blouse is also wonderful, this is an asymmetrical hemline optimally placed - just one feature and it elevates the blouse to elegance, no need for frills and puffy sleeves.

The Vogana dress is beautiful, and it's the trimming on the dress that really makes it special. I like the flared skirt version.

Queen Leti and Infanta Sofia looks like 9
October. It is summer, even if it is an official event, it is not a funeral. Some colours would have been nice

The RL look very nice. Letizia's dress is very lovely great color. White and black always look nice. Leonor looks good. Done with the Navy start with the Air Force, last but not least I would say the Army.

  17. Gorgeous dress but not what I would have chosen for the event. To me, it looks too casual when everyone else is in uniform.

Paloma.
