King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are making a two-day state visit to Cyprus at the invitation of President Nikos Christodoulides. On March 4, the King and Queen were welcomed by President Nikos Christodoulides and his wife, Philippa Karsera, at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia. They then laid a wreath at the statue of Cyprus' first president, Archbishop Makarios III.

ردحذفI love the royal blue outfit from head to toe, especially and including the hat. Wow this colour is a knockout and particularly beautiful in velvet. I would be very happy if we see this blue hue in affordable everyday fashion this year.

حذفExactly my thoughts. She looks great, but something is wrong. The pattern of the dress is beautiful and is very flattering. But velvet for a day time occasion isn't suitable in my opinion. A bit over the top. But that's Máxima's style most of the time.

Maxima looks very good in this Greek design. The draping is very flattering to her figure and she wears the blue so well. I'm not surprised by Maxima's brooch placement.

ردحذفQueen Maxima made an excellent choice by wearing this beautiful velvet dress on the first day of their visit to Cyprus. It is not the first time she wears a dress by Costarellos. She has this choice in common with Queen Mathilde who also wears Costarellos design now and then.

ردحذفA queen does not have to dress down on a state visit. It has always been the custom on a state visit that the queens from both countries are dressed up. The President's wife is underdressed or at least is dressed in something that doesn't suit her. Since they stay only 2 days the first day is already ceremonial with the visit to the statue of Archbishop Makarios and the presence of the military, ....

ردحذفThis blue takes me back to her husband's inauguration day a decade ago. She wore a similar blue with the towering Dutch sapphire tiara. I miss max in glam mode and happy to see her bring it back.
