On May 5, 2022, Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the opening of the '25 years of Sustainable Development Policy: a look at the past and the future' event at the Residence Palace in Brussels (International Press Centre). The Federal Council for Sustainable Development was set up under the law of 5 May 1997. This deals with the coordination of federal policy on sustainable development.
Giorgio Armani Silk-Blend Cady One-Button Blazer
Carolina Herrera Houndstooth Pumps
No! Completely wrong for her bodytype.
ReplyDeleteAgree with 19:28. Jacket is too tight & way too short. Slacks are also too short; straight leg would suit her better & not emphasize her hips. Mathilde needs someone - anyone - to dress her appropriately for her body type. *Regina
Delete@ Regina. You are also part of the group that always must criticize Queen Mathilde no matter what she is wearing. If one must believe all your (among others) comments, Queen Mathilde must become old looking or someone who dresses in an old fashion way. There are already enough princesses and ladies who do so, just let Queen Mathilde be herself.
ReplyDelete*Chef's kiss* - Love this look on Queen Mathilde.

A beautiful jacket but slightly tight on Mathilde (pulling at the button); since she likes belts and buckles to be worn higher, I can see the appeal of this jacket for her, with the button landing where it does. Also the trousers would be better about two inches longer.
ReplyDeleteThis black and white combination works very nicely for her though.

Yes beautiful look, the jacket is however too tight yes
DeleteMathilde sure is busy - newly returned from Greece and straight on to the next engagements.
ReplyDeleteI like the black-and-white look with the fun shoes. But I don´t like the jacket´s button sitting right under her bust and the jacket´s sides pulling apart over her tummy. Also, I think her trousers need to be 5cm longer. When both jacket AND trousers are short, it will look like you´ve outgrown your outfit.
I think this jacket had looked great with a black pencil skirt.
Totally agree with your observations, Vanessa.

Yes, this is the problem here. Q.M is both tall and short-waisted. It is a beautiful outfit with the houndstooth shoes though. (V.M.)
DeleteGreat look today even though I wish the trousers had been a bit longer. HM has certainly been on the go and been super busy this week. One thing I have been noticing is a bit of a change in HM's makeup--either a pale lip color or no lip color. Sorry but this change completely washes Mathilde out, making her look tired. She needs go back to her previous lip colors--pinks and roses to brighten her whole look. Janet
ReplyDeleteI love this style on Queen Mathilde. The white jacket and the black trousers are very chic. The black and white shoes by Caroline Herrera as well as the clutch are completing this look. The trousers length is 7/8 and not too short. This is a length of trousers that comes back every spring and summer in Europe.
ReplyDeleteNice outfit QM. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful outfit, Queen Mathilde looks fabulous. White jacket looks terrific. Black trousers look great. Love the shoes and gorgeous b/white clutch.
ReplyDeleteMe 2!Siv
DeleteLovely colors. The trousers lenght looks ok for me with elegant Herrera shoes, however, the jacket should have been longer to make the look perfect.
ReplyDeleteQ Mathilde could have worn flats with this outfit. I like her in this tailored look, as opposed to the full skirts she has been wearing. And thank god, no hat.

I like this outfit for Mathilde. The one thing I would change would be the jacket. While I like it, I think she needed to size up and she needs a longer jacket. It would keep her body in proportion. I like the placement of the button. It is at her smallest point on her torso, giving her a smaller overall appearance. The jacket is designed to part under the closure, but it is more open than it should be. A larger size would take care of that. Her trousers fit her like a dream. The length is modern and such a nice change for her. The cut does not accentuate her hips at all. Overall, really nice. ~d
ReplyDelete@ -d. The size of the jacket is not too small. Look at the seams of her shoulders, they are in the right place. A larger size would not be O.K.; it would have too large shoulders.
DeleteLooks like Queen Mathilde picked up a little tan from her trip to Greece.
ReplyDeleteOr is it the change in her makeup?
The tan on her face and hands is from her ski trip during the carnival holidays.
DeleteOh, Queen Mathilde looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove everything including the houndstooth pattern pumps.
Very classy and ladylike indeed.
My only and tiny quibble: maybe a longer blazer would have been fine.
