Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Beatrice have shared new photos of their wedding day. Princess Beatrice and her new husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, have released a stunning set of pictures showing them on their happy day.
Sharing the two new images to the royal family's official Instagram, the post reads: Princess Beatrice of York and Mr Mapelli Mozzi have been touched by the warm wishes they have received since their wedding, and are delighted to share two additional photographs of their happy day."
The photos were taken at Royal Lodge following the couple’s wedding which took place at 11am on Friday July 17th 2020 at the Royal Chapel of All Saints, nearby.
Princess Beatrice of York wore a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell and the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara, both belonging to Her Majesty The Queen. The tiara was worn by Her Majesty on her wedding day in 1947.

The more I look at it, the more I admire the work done to reuse this dress- just noticed the embroidery on the sleeve trim. With these puffed sleeves it reminds me of something 1930’s-ish that the Queen Mother wore. Love how the sparkles and satin picked up the light in the shade.

I am so glad the queen made her day extra special in these challenging times with the meaningful dress and tiara. The queen herself looked the happiest to see Bea on her wedding day. Bea looks serene. Her new husband is very much into her.
DeleteAgree, the dress was beautiful and Beatrice looked wonderful, much prettier than I've seen her before. Although it is her Grandma´s dress, Bea wore the dress and not the other way round.
DeleteShe looked magnificent and Edoardo looked handsome. I wish them luck in their personal life. Everybody rich or poor need love and attention. Blessings.
For those on this site who may be interested, I read somewhere today that the sleeves of the dress or the veil have the embroidery of bees on it, for Beatrice, her dress is borrowed from (Queen) Elizabeth and the tiara is (Queen) Mary's, giving her full name Beatrice Elizabeth Mary, which I think is great.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fun detail! Thanks for sharing this:). Going to look for close up pics of the sleeves.

Why go anywhere else. Helen has added a sleeve closeup right here- yeah!! I couldn’t find one:). It looks like the central part matches the other embellishments. Maybe the bee is on the veil? Anyway well done:)!

I liked it, "it's a nice dress" I thought when I saw the first pictures. But these pictures, waw! I must say I love this dress now. The exquisite detailing, wonderful. Very well done, Beatrice. May she have a wonderful marriage too.
ReplyDeleteNot only the dress is gorgeous but her new husband too. The way he looks at her and holds her hands is very loving. He seems to be very much in love with her and happy to be married. The new pictures are so special. I would like to see more.
ReplyDeleteWowser!
ReplyDeleteDon't know about anyone else but I'm certainly very appreciative of these additional photographs, for we can now see in greater detail the exquisite craftsmanship and beauty of the dress. Fit for a Queen as it originally was, and a stunning and glorious dress for her granddaughter on the occasion of her wedding. The sentiment and suitability of this beautiful gesture is so right on every level.
The dress does not need any discussion. It is complimentary in the highest way all round. Beatrice looks stunning and her red locks compliment the cream and ivory vintage creation, which also has the right amount of sparkle for me. The third photograph of partial silhouette against the sunlit grass is my favourite of them all.
I am very happy for Beatrice and her new husband, and I wish them every happiness in their new life together.

ReplyDeleteSo lovely and wonderfull!
ReplyDeleteMi piace molto!
ReplyDeleteJust stunning!
ReplyDeleteYes, a joy to the eyes.
DeleteAnd best wishes for a long and happy life together.
They look simply wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is gorgeous and the choice meaningful, it looks vintage yet has been carefully altered to look current. Most of all, I admire the pairing of dress and tiara forming a very coherent look.
A few small thoughts on the alteration though: I think the added sleeves had looked less "added" if they had used a non-sheer fabric to fill the gaps between the straps and the sleeves. A non-sheer fabric there had resulted in the bodice extending to the shoulders creating a square neckline, but instead the straps still look like straps with fabric added on to them.
The extra panel of fabric at the bottom is well executed, but I wonder if it was necessary? I initially thought it was done to make the dress longer to fit Beatrice, but I´m not so sure anymore. It ended up a few cm too short after all, and - looking at the last pictures where you can see Beatrice and the queen side by side - I think the dress hasn´t actually been made longer at all. Deflating the volume in the skirt should logically also bring the hemline down a bit. I don´t know. If the panel was added simply as an extra feature, I think it had looked better if much narrower, like only a third of its width.
Anyway, I think she looked wonderful. I also like her minimalist approach to jewellery. And most of all, those flowers at the chapel were spectacular!
I agree 100% about the sleeves.
DeleteSeriously? What a negative response she looks beautiful & happy why couldn't you say something similar & let it go at that? Geez...
DeleteA thought on the sleeves...If the sleeves hadn't been sheer, the original detail of the gown would have been lost or not as obvious. Since the point was to wear her grandmother's gown, yet still make it her own, the additions have left all the original details in tact. I like being able to see the original straps of the gown. I also think the sleeves have been very well executed.
DeleteI don't care about the sleeves - but the extension is just awful.
Deletei love the dress even more, the designer is a genius making this dress modern and timeless ❤
ReplyDeleteThese photos would have to be the most beautiful I have ever seen of a bride. Pss Beatrice looked incredible
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteBest Royal Wedding dress by a mile! The history of the dress even makes it more valuable
ReplyDeleteJill
Agree, Jill! It takes my breath away.
DeleteI agree. I love the fact that it is a vintage dress from her grandmother. How special is that.
DeleteThe idea of vintage dress is great but in style wise it's definitely not the most beautiful . All Scandinavian crown princesses, Victoria, Mette-Marit and Mary as well as Meghan had amazing, simple and very stylish dresses. - Lisa
DeleteIt's not my favorite overall wedding dress...that would stll be Stephanie of Luxembourg. But it is indeed my favorite BRITISH Royal bridal look along with Princess Margaret, Princess Alexandra, and the Duchess of Kent.
DeleteAmen, Jill, agreed
DeleteAmen, Jill, agreed
DeleteWow what a beautiful wedding. The dress is spectacular in its simplicity.Beatrice looks so happy. Edoardo looks handsome. The tiara is dazzling;so elegant. I am impressed with the flowers that adorn the church entrance; I am trying to encourage my son and his fiance to have something similar at the church when they marry. All the best for the future to the couple. (Tara)
ReplyDeleteThe first photos were lovely, however, the more I see of the dress, the details (in the shade of a tree) pop, and make the dress come alive. It really is a lovely remade frock. She finally got it right, and looked outstanding on her wedding day. I wonder what her shoes looked like.... JT
ReplyDeleteBea looks radiant and beautiful. Something about her smile and countenance say she's a kind hearted person. They look happy and a cute couple. Congrats and many best wishes.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about it, dress, tiara, flower, low key make up, minimal jelwery. And the small wedding. So intimate and special.
Spectacular !!! in my humble opinion this is the real way a wedding should be conducted, with the closest care and happy family members and friends ...

ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely beautiful dress to be able to wear on your wedding day. I absolutely love the added sleeve detail. What a very special thing for Beatrice to be able to wear this dress and tiara. So happy for her and Edo! She looks absolutely beautiful. And I must say, her flower arrangements are drop dead gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the lovely couple.
ReplyDeletePrincess Beatrice looked so beautiful.
It was good to see them recycling an already beautiful dress from the Queen.
Best wishes for a wonderful life together.
Stunning in 1 word. History exposed in a dress. Pity that recently impossible to enlarge the pictures. Miss details.
ReplyDeleteThe only person I have ever seen get away with long hair down and a tiara is princess Madelaine. I cannot remember at which event but it struck me then that it was the only time I have seen that.
DeleteAgree about enlargement.
Delete-sf
Her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, wore her hair down. Maybe it was a nod to her.
DeleteI like the idea of vintage dress and it looks quite nice, even though I don't think those puff sleeves are the best choice. But the colour of the dress is very becoming on Beatrice. Hair down with the tiara and the veil does never look good. - Siri
ReplyDeleteAs for the sleeves, I agree with @Vanessa, nontransparent could have been a more unifying solution. As for the panel at the hemline, just an idea: Maybe we miss the point of how it may work in real life? Because the diamante details are sparkling (look at the photo in the shadow, wonderful!) and the new material at the hemline also seems to have a shimmering effect. Could it be that both together (and the tiara on top, of course) create a better live effect of "togetherness" that a pohoto cannot convey?
ReplyDelete(-Ann)
my opinion on the hem: the dress is 60 years old and was worn at least between 1961 and 1966. the hem's crease is set in stone! lower the hem? no. cover it with extra fabric? yes. And Yes there is a lot of meaning in the dress, but in terms of covid exposure and dress fittings this was a better choice. Beatrice was working with people who have to be well screened for covid because they are close to the Queen. This kept her and everyone else around her safe. She also got something other Royal brides didn't. The chance to re-wear a family dress like other brides. I personally don't think she would have worn this dress if covid wasn't an issue.
DeleteSorry but I don't like this very much. The dress looks a bit weird especially with the sleeves and bottom part. I like the tiara but her hair looks just like her everyday hair. It should have been up or atleast a semi-updo. So not really great in my book, but I'm happy Beatrice got her wedding after all, even though not the wedding she first had planned.
ReplyDeleteFabulous dress...lovely flowers...happy couple...heartiest congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress. It's lovely Bea honored her grandmother this way.
ReplyDeleteInteresting choice of dress and tiara. Would have liked it better if the dress was slightly longer and the hair neater. However, she looks radiant and happy and that is all that matters.
ReplyDeleteOverall, it's a very disjointed look. I agree that the sleeves would look better if they were made out of a non-sheer fabric, but maybe they had trouble matching the original, as evidenced by the band at the hem. I do love the embroirdery detail on the sleeve, especially if there are bees included in the design.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a fairytale princess, just lovely ,congratulations
ReplyDeleteAn heirloom dress! What a wonderful idea, amazing! She looks beautiful and really this was as extraordinary as it gets in terms of external environment. I cannot possibly think of any better way to celebrate a royal wedding today. How thoughtful and humble. Bravo to Beatrice and the Yorks. Remarkable that only her majesty and prince Philip were in only one of the photographs. Hopefully this serves as an example for more upcoming royal events. CH
ReplyDeleteI think Beatrice looks really good. And you don't need a new over-the-top dress at all. The Queen's dress suits her perfectly and looks just right for the location etc. Good for her. Frieda
ReplyDeleteWhen i first saw the photos I was not bowled over. But with the close up look let me say WOW!! Beatrice was born to wear that color. It could not be more perfect for her skin and especially her hair. I am completely in love with the altered puff princess sleeves. I bet the delicate sparkling diamante was enchanting to see in person.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it was Beatrice's idea to raid Granny Queen's closet and wear vintage, but whomever came up with the idea was inspired.
This is the most elegant British Royal bridal looks in many years.
I've always thought Edoardo was a handsome guy, but the way he gazes and beams at Beatrice is really something to see.....
I loved how she wore almost no jewelry. The dress and tiara had enough bling and anything else would have been overkill. The dress, tiara, small secret ceremony were such a class act during this difficult time. And so much more romantic and intimate than a big blowout. Well done beatrice!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteFor the first time in a long time, a Royal wedding where the bride looks like a Princess. They look happy and in love. I wish them all the best for their future together. B
ReplyDeletePrincess Beatrice has become my favorite royal. I never expected that.
ReplyDeletePrincess Grace Kelly wore one of the most beautiful wedding dresses ever seen. Princess Beatrice looked beautiful and her Cinderellas style at the ball will go down in history. She turned into a beautiful butterfly (from the previous style). Great praise for the person who designed and made the princess Beatrice costume. Bravo
ReplyDeletePrincess Beatrice and her now husband made a wise choice to have a low key wedding and old pass down dress. Shows maturity, restraint and in tune with hard time and other factors in life out of their control. Beatrice looks beautiful .
ReplyDeleteI just came across this blog and found the beautiful pic;s of beatrice and Edo's wedding. Now they had their 2nd wedding anniversary nothing was written on the Birthday and Anniversary pages, just like they did not exist. This is a bit sad. She has done nothing wrong. It seems to me , she is getting punished, for the sins of the father. And by the way one can't choose their parents. I hope that the greed of someone else is satisfied?.css
ReplyDeleteBig weddings are sometimes a bit boring, lots of guest's trying to force themselves into Gowns two sizes to small and see that the focus is on them not the young couple where it should be. The wedding of Pss Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi was small intimate and lovely. The most important people had been there. They have a memory of this beautiful day, and it belongs just to them.
