  1. Both outfits are nice, the one for the visit of the museum is quite nice but a bit too sophisticated for a museum visit.

I Think it’s in harmony with the colours of van Eyk

It was not a plain "museum visit" but the opening night of an important exhibition. On such events people often wear one of their "better dresses". At least that is the case where I live (and here is no royals around).

  2. With this golden coat she looks as if she only had climbed down from one of these pictures herself!

      I agree
In addition to being beautiful, Mathilde's coat is a perfect choice for the vernisage of the
old Flemish painter Jan van Eyck's exhibition.

  3. Love the gorgeous gold coat and shoes. What a fabulous outfit. (so glad she chose not to pair it with the tie as the model did!) She even matches the painting in the fourth pic. My only doubt is that the material looks very stiff. Less convinced by the white dress for the second engagement--again maybe not the most flattering of camera angles but don't think it really does anything for her in either colour or cut

  4. I would looove to see that fabulous Van Eyck exhibition. Queen Mathilde looks beautiful in her regal gold dress, which imo coordinates very nicely with the formality of the artwork. I also like the creamy white dress she wore to the reception, except for the uneven hem.

    1. Yes I agree. I think Queen Mathilde is most lovely. Her outfits might not always be perfect or to everyone's taste, but she herself is elegant.

  6. Queen Mathilde is gorgeous at both events. While both outfits are very pretty and compliment her figure, I particularly like the white dress and the accessories. I must say that her "golden slippers" worn at the museum are exceptional.

  7. The golden outfit looks Egyptian or something. It is interesting, and beautiful, but a bit too festive for the event, I think. Also, the closure in that one point under the bust makes it look a bit like a maternity outfit.
The white dress is equally beautiful. Without that bit of fabric hanging down on the side, it had been even better.

  8. Joli manteau mais avec les manches plus longues, ce serait encore plus élégant.. Ses cheveux sont très bien coiffés ; j’adore les boucles d’oreilles !

Queen Mathilde, always sooo elegant and promoting one of the best designers of the World, Dries van Nooten. The white dress(Natan?) is lovely too: less is more.Top.

Huuu, Queen Mathide: an extraordinary look - "An Optical Revolution",
she's kind of melting through the golden frames out of those pictures.

  13. The golden coat combined with her choice of shoes and the small clutch are exceptional. This is a unusual coat, but works fabulously, the Queen looks stunning. Love the white dress, not so keen on the material draped down one side, but regardless she looks lovely. The subtle pieces of jewellery work in well as does her choice of shoes and bag. Two lovely outfits.

Always loved her. Such a naturally elegant and classy lady. Her appreciation and support of arts is unparalleled in European monarchies. Both outfits are very befitting of a queen and the occasion.

  16. I like both outfits a lot. The white dress is perfection on her.
Clearly, the gold coat was a nod to the subjects of the paintings. She pulls off both very nicely.
