Ahead of the Week Against Child Poverty, on September 19, 2026, Princess Claire of Belgium, representing Queen Paola, took part in a special challenge to create the longest lunch table at the Meise Botanic Garden in Meise. The event was held as part of the “Day of the Full Lunchbox,” (Dag van de Volle Brooddoos) organized by Pelicano, the Queen Paola Foundation’s program dedicated to combating child poverty.

DeleteExactly: it's to raise money for children who come to school without food. In Belgium, in most schools you have to bring your own lunch. She helped to raise money for an organisation that provides full lunchboxes for children who don't have lunch with them out of poverty. She helped bake the cakes too.
DeleteInteresting combination of a long jacket, pussy bow blouse, and white shoes. Not sure everyone can pull this combo off, but I think she looks great. Each piece is well fit and offers something of interest. This outfit feels like the chic, causal and sophisticated European fashion sensibility that feels so unachievable for some of us Americans!
ReplyDeleteThis look is achievable, the trick is the pussy bow blouse and the jacket, not a fan of the cut of the jeans, neither of the chunky shoes. Look at the Ralph Lauren models and get the feeling. A tweed jacket, even second hand, is very useful. Good luck.

ReplyDeleteI read that this event raised enough money to provide more than 20,000 full lunchboxes for Belgian children. It was certainly a worthy cause.
ReplyDeleteI like the fit of her jeans and the cuff seems to have a bit of a ruffle from the wide hem. The longer coat is good proportion and the blouse adds a little feminine touch. Lovely lady

ReplyDeleteSome people forget that in European countries like Belgium there are still children whose parents have not enough money to prepare every day a lunch box with healthy food for their children. In most schools one can obtain a warm lunch too, but that costs money and must be paid in advance. It is a good initiative of the Queen Paola foundation, Pelicano, etc...
