Love love love this gingham dress! The bold print on a classic and feminine silhouette is a perfect match and length. The tan shoes are a more interesting choice than black, plus they disappear to make the dress shine even more. Also love the sunglasses and casual photos of husband and wife. The POW looks smashing!

I don't love the dress nor the look in general,I'm hoping to read more eloquent comments since I'm doing a very poor job here, apologies.
BUT I love their interactions, they are so tender and kind, full of love and companionship. It fills my heart with appreciation for these two but also for my husband.

I agree with your comments and possibly what you did not state but thought. These muscular arms are private, strictly speaking, and need some
covering to improve the overall look on a thin body. This casual dress is fine for the beach but does the princess no favour in public.

“These muscular arms” and “a thin body”… you’re talking about Catherine in a strange impersonal way. She looks fantastic and in hot weather she’s found a dress which works. “Strictly speaking” it sounds like you’re writing from an air conditioned room. Absolutely nothing wrong with a woman showing her arms.

I am not annoyed in the least by a gorgeous lady showing her well toned arms (better than seeing sagging arms anyway) on a seemingly hot day.
Princess or not, she is a human , after all, forced to cope with the heat like many people do in other countries.

Gingham on adult women isn’t my favorite (and can look perilously like a picnic blanket made into clothing), and the brown accessories - earrings, shoes - seem an odd choice. Regardless, Catherine looks summery and relaxed. William looks handsome in his sporty polo gear. They look happy and in sync with each other.

    A smart summery dress.
Gingham never goes out of fashion.
I think Kate would have looked even smarter with her in a ponytail
as she did at Wimbledon last week.

  8. This Temperley London dress imo is perfect for the Princess. It gives her some shape, suits her perfectly. The skirt has nice flair and swish. She looked lovely. Not a fan of the color of her shoes. The earrings, I dislike. Wonderful the money raised, well done to the participants.

Oh this is a stunning dress on Catherine. A very much less is certainly a whole lot more look. She’s obviously incorporated muscle training into her life and looks absolutely fabulous in a sleeveless dress of perfect proportions. One of my favourite Catherine looks to date!

Usually I don't like gingham, but combined with such a very feminine, skin-baring, flowing dress it is very nice, probably nicer than it would be with floral pattern. Another point why this gingham is not "disturbing" for me is the colour. you don't see a tablecloth with this colour, it is an excellent "background" for the very feminine design. 10/10!

What is it with these royal ladies these days ? As well the PoW as the GD of Lux. are using table cloth pattern for their summer dresses.
I do like the style of the PoW dress, but I would have liked it in another plain colour like fuchsia pink, emerald green, butter yellow, light or lavender blue,....

The Wales family have had to deal with the PoW illness. Their lives and priorities have changed. If Charles a sick man himself, wishes to have contact with his grandkids then so be it. But,it’s unfair to expect W&C or any other member of the family who choose not to have contact with them. It is what it is.

If Harry and Meghan apologize them for the public attacks, disparagement, privacy exposure, and selling privacy to the entire world for millions, then maybe they could meet.

Well according to the royal journalists the palaces give away information about Harry and Meghan and always have so maybe they should apologize first. I don't see Harry and Meghan apologizing at all. He didn't sell privacy he wrote a memoir that corrected palace lies and royal journalists lies which upset them. They all work with journalists with their books. An unhinged one is coming out with a book that's probably filled with lies if his usual work is anything to go by.I doubt his brother attacks it.

No the should keep the children away from William and Catherine. They'll put it in the tabloids every moment. Charles and Camilla already have. Everyone attacks Harry for setting the record straight on stories that "journalists" claim came from the palace, but no one criticizes Charles and Camilla or William and Catherine if they didn't want them to put the stories out they wouldn't.

No, Harry is not putting things in perspective. He dragged his family through the mud, kicked Catherine over trivialities like lip gloss and bridesmaids' dresses. I hope Catherine´s children are protected from their uncle. Harry is not a person they could trust.

Here we go again. Camp A against camp B. I feel pity for King Charles that he cannot get to know his grandchildren, at least I think he is not the one to blame. A man who had (or still has, under control) cancer and is looking good again and who would not want to see his grandchildren. I cannot believe this.

I love gingham but I don't love this dress. It looks a bit off. Temperley London? Why did I think it was out of business? Her hair looked pretty good until the wind got to it. Not sure about the shoes and earrings. Have to check the Temperley website.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Harriet Phillips' dress had a drop waist and then the check pattern was totally messed up between the upper and the lower part of the dress. In the case of the Princess of Wales we are dealing with a natural waist and a ribbon serving as some sort of belt which is tied in the back. The discontinuing of the gingham pattern is not too obvious here (although there clearly is one gong on) also because of darts that are in place. The tailoring is done much more cleverly than with Mrs. Phillip's dress. Hence why I disliked hers more and liked the gingham number of the PoW better.

Great dress on her, gives her a feminine shape. I like the earrings but not sure why she chose brown and these shoes instead of sandals., but it works. I would say that the armhole could be a tad smaller, it exposes the unflattering skin.

Well cut dress. I don’t mind a sleeveless dress for a casual outdoor sporting event. Yes, she has muscular arms, same as Letizia, but Kate wears outfits that reveal them a lot less (she also lives in a different climate, I know, this isn’t a comment aimed at the Spanish queen). Gingham is a classic summer print, the size on this dress is slightly unusual (almost feels too big, I think a slightly smaller one would have been even better). Also, I would have preferred it in navy and white, versus black and white- but that’s just me. Pleased to see she is wearing lower heels
