I think it happened because so many people complained about Maxima’s hair but no one cared about Anne’s so-called hairdo. It’s just a matter of showing some commenters how they have two different treatments - just simply biased.

BTW, I happen to agree with those who say Anne’s hair dos are typically much worse than Maxima’s. At least occasionally Maxima gets it right.

Nice dress, hair terrible, shoes too small 😉

There is nothing wrong with her hair, it is not messy, it is fine and straight. I think that Princess Anne's hair needs to be cut and styled because it looks like straw.

I agree that Anne’s hair is completely awful, but rarely read anyone commenting on it. Meanwhile, some commentators have said some really inappropriate things about Maxima’s.

Why did poor Princess Anne get dragged into this conversation??

I like the hairband solution for her hair, any time, it does eactly what it should, keep flying thin hair away from her face. Don't really understand the comment "terrible" - why not say "don't like it"? In music terminology the good method is called "sordino" - not so loud. Because "terrible" is really something else. - The dress is Zimmermann-like fluffy-puffy and ruffled and then yes, laced too. Less would be more ... but at least muted colours.

Her hair is not more or less terrible than the hair of other women in the Netherlands. The head band keeps it in place.

Well, I can assure you that not every woman in the Netherlands has thin hair (I’m Dutch and I have very thick hair)

Of course there are other women in the Netherlands with thick hair. I just compair Q. Maxima sometimes with other ladies when I see her in a group photo.

Very nice dress, hem detail is unusual but very feminine. I do like how the neutral bad holds her hair back. I guess puffy sleeves are in, I prefer this length to the shorter little girl look.

Completely agree on the sleeves, if they have to be puffy, then keep the puff low!

  13. The dress is pretty but it'a bit 'tableclothy' due to the lacey look. I like the shape of the sleeves and the way it fits around the waist. It seems to be multi-coloured which is also nice.

    1. Glad to see the use of the word tableclothy. I thought it was just an invention when I used it for PoW’s checked sundress the other day 😀

  17. Sorry, not as positive as most of you for this look. The dress looks cool and comfortable but the pale lace looks a bit night wear like to me. I’m also not a fan of the barely there scrappy sandals. The hair and is certainly a good idea for her hair. Not a fail but not an enthusiastic endorsement.

The one is wearing Grandma's lace curtains and the other grandma's tablecloth or picknick blanket.

A new use for Grandma's lace curtains, toes hanging over the edge of shoes, childish hairband- not a good look!

@19:12,I do hope that is an attempt at sarcasm! In a shop, that is definitely a dress I would walk past. More a ' mother of the bride's' dress than jazz festival wear.

This is a wonderful look at Maxima, even the hair looks like it fits with this summery day by the sea kind of vibe.
