Queen Máxima Opens UPPACT Recycling Factory in Farmsum

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands opened the Uppact recycling factory

On Wednesday afternoon, April 1, 2026, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands opened the UPPACT recycling factory at Chemport Innovation Center in Farmsum. At this facility, mixed plastic and textile waste streams are mechanically processed into new construction materials such as posts, planks, and beams. The factory serves as a demonstration and validation site for a circular production concept.

Following the opening, Queen Máxima was given a tour of the factory and spoke with employees and involved partners about the development of the production facility, the technologies used, and cooperation across the circular value chain. She also met with representatives from government and the private sector to discuss regional cooperation, the financing of circular innovations, and value chain development.

The UPPACT DEMO factory is a Dutch circular scale-up focused on processing hard-to-recycle mixed plastic and textile waste streams. Using an Australian mixer-melter technology, these waste streams can be mechanically transformed into sustainable and recyclable construction materials, suitable for applications including public spaces and infrastructure.

Ze lijkt op koningin Wilhelmina met zo'n gedateerde hoed.

  2. I love the gorgeous burgundy colour of this outfit. The style of the dress is beautiful especially the elegant sleeves, the flared skirt and the neckline. The upturned hat compliments the dress and allows people to see Maxima's lovely face.

Great look for Maxima. I must say she is born for this role of Queen. She always has a smile for the public.

    Happy Easter everyone.

Oh, waar is toch de echte Maxima gebleven, deze standaard saaie jurken passen helemaal niet bij haar en de malle hoed mag ook weg.

The silly hat is how we know it's Maxima :) But I agree, she's been a bit subdued lately.

Why do you call the hat silly Cinci? I find it very becoming for Maxima, and she carries on the tradition of her mother for wearing hats for openings.

  5. I do love the burgundy color of this outfit, its gorgeous, beautiful rich shade. This outfit looks good and well put together. The accessories, gloves, bag and shoes, good color. The pearl brooch is a lovely rewear, very effective against the rich burgundy, setting the pearls off beautifully. The earrings (I enlarged the photo) beautiful earrings and perfect for this ensemble. She continues to wear this style, size hat with flair and elegance. Always a joy to see her.

Hello dearest @Ava, how are you doing?
I'm home at last, challenging weather conditions up there.. but now it's all gone and time for tmy Easter holidays!
I saw and scrolled down every single post re: Queen Maxima and yes, it is truly a joy to see her out and about.
I especially love this colour palette on her, ranging from the Pompeian red to a richer burgundy shade.
Then, honestly I applaud her for showing up in such good shape, She has a perfect figure that does justice to streamlined ,snug dresses.
Unfortunately, I can't enlarge pics today, dunno why, still I am entirely sure her accessoires and jewellery are well chosen and elevate each single outfit.
Wishing you and all the blog readers great Easter holidays and a time for intimate reflection to the believers.
      Hugs!!

We are now in Autumn, you wouldn't now though today was rather warm LOL! Yes, glorious color, rich and suits her well. Yes, she does but also her height is such an advantage, on the taller side, imo women look so good in their ensembles! Thank you for festive wishes, I wish you as well, Happy Easter, stay safe. Handschoenen O.K. op staatsbezoek, maar NIET om een fabriek te bezoeken, tenzij het er ijskoud is.

Dear Dutch writing ladies. Your snide, bitchy little comments about Queen Maxima are becoming rather tiresome. I am Dutch, I live in the Netherlands and I really like the fact that everyone can comment in thier own language on this blog but mostly people use English even if they make grammer mistakes nobody minds but it makes for easier reading for all and less having to resort to Google tarnslate. Most Dutch persons can speak and write pretty good English, it is in fact compulsry at school, so why the nasty, snide little comments in Dutch. Using Google translate the nastyness does not really come through. If you don't have a constructive fashion statement or a pleasant way of saying you don't like something just don't say it.
I am ashamed of my fellow one or maybe two Dutch compatriots behaving in this way.

The colour is fine, the cut of the dress hides any fault a person`s figure may have, the gloves are unnecessary in this context, the hat is ridiculous - too large and dated in style, but it serves a purpose of hiding the dreadful hair. A lot of re-wears lately all of which need refreshing/altering to give a new lease of life as some royal ladies do quite successfully, perhaps Maxima lacks imagination.
