King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark are undertaking a five-day state visit to Australia. On March 15, 2026, King Frederik X and Queen Mary welcomed the Governor-General of Australia, Sam Mostyn, and her husband, Simeon Beckett, at Government House in Canberra. Canberra is the capital of Australia and the country’s political and administrative centre, home to the federal government and Parliament.
In the evening, the King and Queen will attend the official state banquet held at Government House in Canberra, hosted by Governor-General Sam Mostyn AC and her husband, Simeon Beckett. For the occasion, Queen Mary wore a floral print ruffle midi dress from the Claes Iversen Fall/Winter 2016 couture collection.
Claes Iversen Floral Print Ruffle Midi Dress

Noooo ... - Ellie
ReplyDeleteToo much frou frou on this dress. It is distracting. And the hat doesn't compliment the dress. But, I have to give recognition to the designer for originality and creativity. The floral pattern is beautiful. If they could remove
ReplyDeletethe frills and ruffles it would be a winner.
Love love love the red pantsuit and shoes on the G-G!! The Queen’s dress has too many ruffles and chiffon layers for my personal taste, but it fits well and I like the colors on the flowers.
ReplyDeleteQueen mary looks beautifull in the floaty dress and he's not too bad either ! What a couple xx
ReplyDeleteThis frilly dress is definitely a break from Q Mary's usual more tailored style. Not sure I like it, other than she looks good in everything. Lady in red pantsuit looks very sharp.
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
Hello Mrs Cleaver.
DeleteThe woman in the red pant suit is our G G, ie the Governor General.
She is usually a very stylish but I didn't like the unusual dress she chose
for the evening dinner.
Vestido precioso, pero a mi parecer, las blondas al menos las de las mangas, sobran. El tocado, ya da por sí volumen al conjunto, no es necesario añadir más.
ReplyDeleteLife is just a fairy tale!
ReplyDeleteGirl meets prince and live happy ever after!
Oh please! 🤣
DeleteLovely dress. Mary looks great. This cannot be said of the governor in her red pantsuit.
ReplyDeleteThe governor general looks fantastic in her red pantsuit.
DeleteWell, well, I don't like this dress ... without the frill overkill on the top part and the sleeves, maybe. Flowers, flowy mousselin, transparency - *plus* frills on neckline, front and sleeves *and* the headpiece - too much sweetness for me. Frederik's jacket, as almost always, much too tight, this time dispaying his shirt where it should not be visible and his pants play accordion.
ReplyDeleteHm, not my favourite dress. I prefer more simplicity and authenticity. I don't recognize Qn Mary here.
ReplyDeleteMary looks incredible beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJe n aime pas beaucoup les volants de cette robe et il y a un déséquilibre dans l ensemble. Dommage. J aime les couleurs en revanche.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is lovely and light , just enough colour to add interest without competing with the fabric waves. The hat is in keeping with the flowing fabric, shoes nice neutral. Looks like the king is wearing a pair of R.M.Willams shoes, nice nod to the Australian shoe maker. Very comfy boots indeed.
ReplyDeleteA very rare miss..
ReplyDeleteI love this original summary elegant embroidered (?) dress from this Danish designer. I would have changed the colour ot the hat though
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress, but I don’t like the ruffles, they add nothing to the dress
ReplyDeleteC’est un joli modèle mais il comporte trop de volants et froufrous ; j’aurais vu plus de sobriété !
ReplyDeleteNo,no,no! That dress she could not wear att all in a good way!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like she bought it from Temu.
The dress and headpiece are a miss
ReplyDeleteAt first glance I thought this was a Zimmerman creation. I read it was from Iversen F/W16 collection, interesting that QM chose an archive design. I think it suits the occasion, and she’s accessoried it well with the fasinator and clutch.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
With this hat and this floral dress Mary looks like as if she is attending a garden party in London, not an official indoor meeting where the other participants are formally dressed in a business attire.
ReplyDeleteThe actual dress and color palette is very attractive, but I don't like the ruffles. The blue stone earrings and clutch drawing out the color flower color of her dress. Not a fan of this particular fascinator. Welcome back to our country Ma'am.
ReplyDeleteQueen Mary's dress is an old one. Therefore the ruffles which were fashion when the dress was new don't look good anymore. The blue grey fascinator doesn't match the dress and looks worn out. On picture N°5 it looks like she is wearing an apron on top of her dress. The blue grey handbag doesn't match the dress nor the shoes. The combination of the dress and accessories is a total miss.
