On March 13, 2026, Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan attended the Salang Tendrel (groundbreaking ceremony) of the Kurukulee Centre in Gelephu Mindfulness City. Princess Deki Yangzom Wangchuck and Princess Dechan Wangmo Wangchuck accompanied the Queen for the Salang Tendrel. The five-storey centre features a large and open prayer hall on the ground floor dedicated to the main statue of Jetsunma Kurukulle.
In the tapestry of Vajrayana Buddhism, amidst a myriad of deities and Bodhisattvas, stands Kurukulle, the captivating Red Tara. Shrouded in symbolism and imbued with mystical allure, Kurukulle embodies the essence of love, passion, and magnetism. The Kurukulee Centre is among the sacred landmarks being developed in Gelephu Mindfulness City as part of its broader spiritual and cultural landscape.
