On 23 February 2026, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema, accompanied by their three children — Prince Jigme Namgyel, Prince Jigme Ugyen, and Princess Sonam Yangden — as well as other members of the Royal Family, joined volunteers at Gelephu Central Park, a 35.5-acre designated park near Gelephu, where 108 flowering trees were planted to ensure the park blossoms throughout the year.
On the third day of the 5th Zhabtog Programme for Gelephu Mindfulness City, 28 teams of volunteers worked across seven sites, continuing large-scale efforts in environmental restoration and site preparation. Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) is a Special Administrative Region in Bhutan, envisioned by His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
