King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia are making a state visit to Poland. On the second day of the state visit, Queen Silvia and Minister Parisa Liljestrand attended the seminar “Barnahus Model in Poland, Sweden and Europe: Progress and Road Forward in Poland,” aimed at strengthening support for the implementation of the Barnahus model in Poland.

Barnahus offers children who are suspected of having been subjected to crimes the opportunity to tell their story to specially trained staff in a safe and specially adapted environment. Instead of being referred between different authorities, the children meet responsible actors in one and the same place.

Afterwards, the King and Queen, together with Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard and Minister for Culture Parisa Liljestrand, visited the Warsaw Museum. At the museum, the King and Queen and the ministers met Polish and Swedish researchers to discuss the shared Swedish-Polish cultural heritage and how it can be made more accessible.
