King Carl Gustaf’s sister, Princess Désirée, Baroness Silfverschiöld, passed away at her home at Koberg in Västergötland on January 21, 2026. The Princess was 87 years old. On Thursday, February 19, 2026, the funeral service for Princess Désirée took place in the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
The service was followed by a private reception in Princess Sibylla’s apartment, Princess Désirée’s childhood home. The interment took place at a later date at Koberg. In accordance with the family’s wishes, both ceremonies were held in the presence of family members and specially invited guests only.
It's a funeral/memorial service so it's kind of hard to mess up basic black. Everyone looks appropriately elegant imo.
