Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden visited the Luleå Archipelago together with the Governor Lotta Finstorp

Last week, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden visited the Luleå Archipelago in Norrbotten County together with the Governor of Norrbotten County, Lotta Finstorp. At sunrise, the Crown Princess and her accompanying party travelled along the ice road to Hindersön before continuing their journey through the archipelago by snowmobile.

Just outside Hindersön, the Crown Princess and County Governor Lotta Finstorp took part in water sampling to assess water quality and environmental changes. The Environmental Analysis Unit of the County Administrative Board regularly conducts water testing in local waters. The Crown Princess drilled a hole in the thick ice before carrying out the sampling.

During the snowmobile journey through the archipelago, the Crown Princess and the County Governor rode in a sled pulled behind an electric snowmobile that the County Administrative Board is testing for use in nature management.

Love to see CP Victoria getting her hands dirty, or digging in ice and snow in this case!

Without gloves it is impossible to work longtime with ice and snow, her fingers would be frozen, which is very painful.

Dear 23:56, whilst you are correct, I don’t think anyone doubts that so I’m confused why you’ve written it here in response?!

La réponse d'anonyme 23 : 56 est typique d'une personne qui ne comprend pas le sens figuré de l'expression "se salir les mains" et qui le prend donc au pied de la lettre ! ;-)

It has a lot to do with her being the crown princess. This was part of a visit to the northern part of the country. If you read what it sais you’ll get an explanation of what they did. This is something done in all monarchies. Important information.

Well instead of just reading a report prepared for her, she like to go see for herself what and how it is done and the effects on the country she lives in. The cold outdoors are not foreign to her. I would also suspect she is given the choice.

@ "09:18" And if she was just sitting on hands doing nothing you'd be complaining about that! I'm glad she doesn't appear to worry about what “critics” think and just goes about her work and duties with curiosity, enthusiasm and joy. Go Victoria, go!!

    Wow, that's life, love everything.
Well done to Princess Victoria and to all the scientists involved in this project!
Noorbotten...another wonderful , remote location to see the Northern Lights.
There is an incredible variety of landscapes and vegetation.
    Wish I could be there!
Victoria looks marvellous in her outdoor gear, well rugged up and so engaging.

Victoria in her right element! Nature. One can see how she enjoys it and is engaged in it. She’s the patron of many nature related research and development areas, among them is Water Aid, Hållara Hav and so on. That is as far as I know….Ac
