All have appropriate attire for a prayer service. Lovely to see how attentive the girls are to their grandmother.

According to the website of the Greek Royal Family, HRH P Irene’s funeral service will take place Monday, January 19, in the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens.

I find it so sad that the press or paparazzi were allowed to take and publish close up photos of young people in fresh grief. This is fundamentally wrong, regardless of whether they are public figures.

I find these photos are okay it shows them paying respect and supporting their grandmother. If you were there you would see them, so this is no different. Did you feel the same with Queen Elizabeth funeral photos of the family?

All famous people's last ceremonies as a memorial service or a funeral are news. The happy ceremonies which took place during their life have been reported too. If nobody can see videos or photos of this, the family can ask for strictly private ceremonies. Nowadays it is often the case with funerals of common people. The family of the deceased person announces that the ceremony will take place in private only for the nearest family.

A nice turn out of family members. Sadly, some had other engagements hope they really had been more important than giving a family member the last honor and respect. I did not see Philippos and Nina, also Nicholaos and Chrisy had been absent. May the dear and selfless Pss Irene RIP. She must have been a lovely lady, I wish i had known her.

They will likely attend the actual funeral in Athens on Monday. The prayer service in Spain was not the the final service for the late Princess.

    2. Not all the family members have to take part in the Prayer Service. Why should they all fly to Madrid when the funeral service will take place tomorrow in Greece?

    Sad and moving service.
I feel for Queen Sofia, her profound sorrow is written all over her face and still she looks so dignified.
Thankfully, she can rely on the support and affection of her immediate family.
