New Official Portraits of King Harald V and Queen Sonja Released

Queen Sonja wears the Norwegian Emerald Tiara and Parure, along with the sash and star of the Order of St. Olav

In connection with the launch of the updated website of the Norwegian Royal Court, new official portraits of King Harald V and Queen Sonja were released. The portraits were taken earlier this year in the Mirror Hall at the Royal Palace by photographer Kimm Saatvedt.

  1. Not my favourite dress but she looks lovely in it. The emeralds are spectacular. The king looks noble and majestic. He appears to be a very benevolent man.

  5. They both look lovely an all but, someone should hide this gown and the neon green one from her. I get the recycle clothes thing but, it's been done to death. Splurge and buy a new gown. The jewelry is is beautiful!

  6. Queen Sonia's face looks very young, almost no wrinkles. I think the pictures have been photoshopped. King Harald too has no wrinkles any more. I'd prefer his picture with a walking stick instead of looking for support by means of a chair. By looking at his legs one can see immediately he cannot stand up without help.
