Beautiful woman. The hat is quirky.
The coat-dress has strange details on the shoulder. And the boots needed to replaced.

I love the boots! Warm, matching, comfortable. What could you suggest to better these qualities?

I don't like the wrinkled finish of the boots. A different kind of boots could be better.
This suede is ok or variate with other material.
But I think these boots have a very country-style look for going outdoors in bad weather. They are not chic enough for official meetings.

  3. Getting Michael Jackson vibes with the ornamental shoulder detail. I cannot explain what it is but this is a no from me

Oh my goodness - yes - thank you for saying it! Totally MJ vibes here. This is truly the strangest fashion I have ever seen Queen Camilla wear. And I agree with the poster that mentioned the boots should be retired. Is there a sentimental or hidden/historic meaning behind any of this? If not, it's just, some sort of military/pop star cosplay.

Agree I am not into faux military looks. Having said that the coat fits well, but the toes of her boots need a brushing up. Not up to military standards

I'm sure the ornament on the hat is a regiment brooch of some type but it looks rather Halloweeny with the skull. The coat looks very military but I agree with Fitzhugh - getting Micheal Jackson vibes, for sure. The lines of the coat are beautiful, the piping outstanding but the shoulder epaulets could be better.

It’s a funny pair of glasses you look through - possibly those from a different fashion culture - where you see a well-dressed, formally-associated Queen (she’s Colonel-in-Chief to this regiment, the Royal Lancers), at a solemn remembrance ceremony and suggest she has “vibes” of a dead pop star.

100% Michael Jackson. Flashy and tasteless in my opinion a decent coat in a dark colour would actually befit the occasion. Seems she just wanted to show off.

The boots are the best part of the outfit. I don't see that those military-like details are necessary and I don't like them at all. Not the collar, not the shoulders, the beret would be OK but with no feathers in this angle or considerably smaller ones. And no golden buttons, especially not to silvery shoulders. No. No, no.

I have always being wondering why the British royal ladies had to wear these clothes semi military style ? I bed the military details on her coat doesn't appear on any military uniform of the British Armed forces.
I never saw Queen Elizabeth in such clothes. I've seen pictures of her on her horse when she was a young queen in a real uniform. She had every right to wear it because she was the Commander in Chief of the British Armed forces. Camilla and Sophie although they are wearing uniforms or clothes which ressemble uniforms none of them did military training.

It is difficult for me to understand these honorary military titles to royals that haven't served. It seems disingenuous, but that is the tradition. An honorary title is one thing, but the cosplay clothing is another. I always think these honors should go to someone who has served in the military, not as a reward for the BRF.

    3. Anonymous7/11/25 21:39

1:16 the honours are not rewards, they are support and tradition. It’s certainly not cosplay, and the patronage of the royals is highly appreciated in the British forces. This may be different from in your culture, but this is taken seriously and respectfully in the UK.

I think there must be some military significance/meaning to the skull and crossbones pins on Camilla’s hat and coat, as well as the feathers. On anyone else, this outfit would look ridiculous, I think, but Camilla manages to pull it off - just barely.

Queen Camilla is Colonel in Chief of the Lancers regiment. A position she took over from Queen Elizabeth the second.

    3. It's the badge of the Royal Lancers, their motto is "Death or Glory", and this was the regiment of Queen Camilla's father, Major Bruce Shand. She now is Colonel-in-Chief to this regiment. She is not wearing it for the first time, she did so several times already, also the coat is a rewear.

I Googled Royal Lancers, and indeed, Camilla's outfit appears to be some kind of official uniform. In that case, the outfit is obviously fine. But like many other commentators, I find unofficial military-style outfits worn at military events strange and even disrespectful. -Siri

In response to some rather `ignorant` comments :
Q Camilla is not making a fashion statement here. Her coat, which is well tailored, is a tribute to the uniform of the Royal Lancers, her father was their Colonel in Chief in WW2. The brooch belonged to Q Elizabeth and is the badge of her father`s regiment, the feathers are the regimental colours. Some rather `ignorant` comments

Odznaky s lebkou a zkříženými hnáty na Camillině klobouku a kabátu? To je zlé. Myslím, že to není dobré pro královnu.

I am glad I am not the only one any more who doesn't like the military looking clothes. I've said it years ago each time when around Armistice these clothes are taken out of the mot balls. They should better wear a simple black or navy coat with a normal dark hat and better looking boots in case she has quickly cold feet..

Agree. “Almost military or looks like” is never appropriate. It dishonors the actual uniform with fakey bits. I’m especially disturbed by the SS Totenkopf insignia.

. I agree, she looks fantastic. I honestly don't understand the negative comments. The epaulets give more structure to her shoulder. The red accents in the collar and the hat are very flattering. Love her hair and the feathers on the hat, they finish it off. Maybe the boots can be improved but these look elegant and I presume they are very warm and comfortable. This is a fabulous look.
