Princess Beatrice Visits Borne Research Laboratories in London

Princess Beatrice of York and Good Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin

On November 10, 2025, Princess Beatrice of York visited the Borne research laboratories at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. The Princess was joined at the event by Good Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin. The pair met scientists and clinicians leading Borne’s research, including projects investigating the causes of preterm labour. The visit formed part of Borne’s “Every Week Counts” campaign to mark World Prematurity Day next Monday. Princess Beatrice serves as patron of the Borne charity.

  1. This was a very interesting visit by the Princess. Wonderful research being done.

  2. Excellent cut and fabric, with an intricate broidery, the v-cut is very flattering. Only quibble is that the sleeves might be slightly too long, but this should be easily fixed. Overall a good look for Beatrice today! :-D

    1. Yes, agree. And the cheeky open style, not buttoning up (or down) like commoners do - quite setting the trend for visiting princesses.

    2. Anoymous@10:37 sometimes I am slow but what do you mean like the commoners do, please explain so I will be in the know!

    3. I seriously doubt this is "her" lab coat. They would have provided her with one to wear during the tour. She is not as much "like" a commoner as you think, anon 10:37. She has buttoned two buttons. What an odd comment.

    4. @Fitzhugh: It was a fun post or at least: half of it fun. - If I visited a laboratory, I would button up like the people who work there (= the commoners :-) do. I did not like this kind of nonchalance, which is of course possible for a Princess - but this is exactly why I would button up. - It is a small detail, yes, but speaks volumes if you listen.

    5. @Anon 17:20: of course it is not her coat, but who wrote that it is.

    6. Ladies, please! Anonymous 08:47 is joking!

    7. Anon 18:09 Read the comment from 8:47. It is a silly comment about the fit and embroidery of the lab coat. Basically a comment just to make a comment.

  4. I'm surprised to see Beatrice here. I thought she worked privately and was not a working royal. It must be difficult with all the stuff going on with her parents.

    1. Perhaps she was invited

    2. She is not a working royal. She still lends her support to various interests. Beatrice's daughter Athena was born preterm. It makes perfect sense that she would take an interest in their research.

    3. She is definitely not a working royal and to tell the truth, I hope she never will be one. I am surprised to see her too, especially as her last appearance in Saudi Arabia was not really something for the greater good of the Royal Family, moving in the very same context that her parents are infamous for. Not quite a good move if you want to show that you are different.

    4. Delighted to see her supporting this charity. Delighted to see her anyway. Agree with Sandra that the last few weeks must have been so tough for her and Princess Eugenie. She’s not a working royal but nor is Meghan, for example, who still supports charitable organisations, albeit usually more glamorous ones.

    5. What have Beatrice and Eugenie done that is in poor taste? They are not their parents and the peanut gallery should not compare them to their parents. They have every right to continue living their lives as they always have. What do you expect them to do? Completely disappear from the prying eyes of the world, forever? Leave them alone. They don't deserve judgement from anyone.

    6. @Anon 04:46: Sometimes it is not quite enough to defend someone blindly. Read the media about the Saudi visit and inform yourself with their connections there. The problem is not that it is not charity connected.

  5. Afin de pouvoir donner un avis, je n'arrive pas à voir correctement ce que porte Béatrice ?!
