On October 21, 2025, Princess Caroline of Hanover attended the Friends of the Museum dinner at the Grand Palais in Paris, France. The Friends of the Museum aims to promote and support the Museum’s activities by helping organize exhibitions and acquire new artworks. This year, the association is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Organized in parallel with the launch of Art Basel, the evening brought together numerous national and international figures from the art world, including artists, curators, and art patrons. The goal of the event was to raise funds to acquire a new artwork for the Museum. For the occasion, the Princess wore a short-sleeved embroidered dress by Dries Van Noten.

Waouh, quelle jupe aux motifs colorés lumineusement ; avec le noir, cela
ReplyDeletelui va superbement bien !
i suppose the hot topic was the hiest at the Louvre.
ReplyDeleteCaroline looks very glamorous, the dress, the shoes, the pose are pure class!
I wish the dress would elevate her more, unfortunately she looks dated. I do like seeing her smile more and be more engaging
ReplyDeleteShe’s almost 70 Fitzhugh and that gives her every right to look “dated” or anything else! Think … she’s lived through 70 years of changing fashion, … it’s ok to collect your favourites along the way … and, by that age, let’s all wear what brings us joy and not care at all whether others think we are “elevated”!
Deletei like the Grace Kelly chin lift (photo 1)she and Charlotte do, its very flattering
Delete@Fitzhugh: What exactly looks dated on her? Would like to understand. Is it her dress (which is, for me, if anything date-related, then timeless and elegant), or her person?
Delete@Karen 16:35, you are just plain rude and mean. Most of the time Princess Caroline does look more updated and I meant no harm in what I said. "I am resending this because I do not know if my 1st comment went through" So sad and unhappy you must be KAREN!!!
DeleteFitzhugh don't be silly.
DeleteFitzhugh … there’s nothing mean about 16:35’s comment! S/he ‘s clearly helping suggest another perspective. Why respond saying it’s mean? It’s discussion!
DeleteI agree 16:35 - very well said. (PS there’s nothing remotely offensive about what you’ve written. Not sure why “Fitzhugh” called you mean! Strange anger comes out here for no reason. )
DeleteGosh Fitzhugh, why be “plain rude and mean” to someone making an innocent response to yours?
DeleteFantastic dress. The bright gold jewelry is subtle, but complements the beautiful embroidery.
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
Agree 100%--perfectly put! Janet
DeletePieteux? Trop sevère!
DeleteHmmm. The skirt is great, but not loving the overall look. Perhaps a 3/4 sleeve or sleeveless woild be better, or is it the shoes that seem to conflict with the pattern. A nice pump would leave the foot open. Her hair is very nice .
ReplyDeleteShe's gorgeous! Her hair, makeup, dress and shoes are stunning!! She defies her age.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is unique and the skirt portion is so brilliant and eye catching that it was wise of the designer to use a plain black fabric for the top. I really like the design and Caroline looks great. She has such a pretty face. The gold accessories and black shoes are perfect for this outfit.
DeleteShe looks elegant. My one quibble is the crisscross straps of her shoes with the length of the skirt. A plain pump or sling back would have given a look of more length to the leg. I like the shoes but think they would look nicer with a skirt length that stopped just below the knee.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly only you expressed it better.
DeleteAgree. I think this is one of her best looks for a while.
DeleteShe looks elegant. My only quibble is the crisscross straps on the shoes. A plain pump or sling back shoe with no cross straps would have given the appearance of more length to her legs with that skirt length. I like the shoes but think they would suit a skirt length that hits just below the knee better.
ReplyDeleteSimple top and beautiful skirt: great!
ReplyDeleteElegant Princess. She looks great in this dress. My only quibble are the shoes. I prefer plain court pumps to pumps with straps . Straps tend to cut off the foot and look less attractive. Plenty of shoes styles available without straps. Even the cute black suedes with small buckle that Princess Charlene wore works well.
ReplyDeleteI have never understood the dislike of shoes with straps ... they don't cut the foot off, the foot stays where it is :-) - I mean, if linear elements would cut off anything, then e.g. necklaces would cut off the neck and bracelets would shorten/cut off the arms ... but they don't. No foot looks shorter just because there is a plus decorative element there in form of a strap? Or two. Really, I struggle to understand. Dislike is fully OK, but why explain it with "cut off"?
ReplyDeleteFair comment!! I also think it depends which angle photo we see, and to see her in real life we might see the shoes looking excellent I suspect.

ReplyDeleteShe looks beautiful in this dress, her necklace, if my memory is correct belonged to the Princess's late mother. Perfect addition. Love her shoes. Caroline has a beautiful face, gorgeous bone structure. I feel she is aging beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDoes it matter...male or female ? They are who they are
ReplyDeleteThat is an inappropriate and offensive comment to make
ReplyDeleteIm glad to say that the remark made by anonymous 23/10/25 at 00.12 was removed.
