King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain are making a 3-day State Visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. On Tuesday, September 16, the King and Queen of Spain arrived at Cairo Airport, where they were welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdelghaffar, together with the ambassadors of both countries.
Afterwards, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain hosted a reception at the St. Regis Cairo Hotel for the Spanish community living in Egypt, which was attended by around 300 Spanish citizens. The Spanish community in Egypt numbers about one thousand residents, roughly half of whom hold dual Spanish-Egyptian nationality.

Great look for Letizia.

its an islamic country, cover shoulders please
DeleteLetizia is not "islamic" so she does not need to cover anything.

DeleteDès la première photo, j'ai eu la même idée mais je pense que Letizia sait ce qu'elle fait !
She makes a statement.
Delete@3:58 from the text at the top: “ hosted a reception at the St. Regis Cairo Hotel for the Spanish community living in Egypt”…
DeleteUne belle robe et un beau décolleté pour la reine. C'est sobre et chic.
ReplyDeleteEn revanche le sac n'est pas à mon goût. Paloma.
Letizia's dainty figure lends itself beautifully to the architecture of this slender column dress. Letizia also demonstrates that footwear doesn't need to have super high heels in order to look elegant. A very classy look. Lyra
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you! Federica
DeleteMe too!
DeleteLetizia looks beautiful, elegant, simplified and subtle, but so stylish. Love this look. Her shoes look great.
ReplyDeleteShe is a veauty. What a wonderful pencil dress. At the same time I wander if the " naked" shoulders are a bit too much upon arrival in a Moslim country or maybe Letizia makes a emancipated female statement?
ReplyDeleteObviously, she is not Moslim and they do what they want in other countries the cover their body in Christian countries
Delete… good to be culturally sensitive but also: “hosted a reception at the St. Regis Cairo Hotel for the Spanish community living in Egypt”
DeleteWhy it is always the others who have to adapt to the moslims and the moslim countries. When they come on state visit to European countries they also wear the clothes of their culture.
DeleteAnon at 14:13, this!
DeleteI also wouldn't recommend bare shoulders at a diplomatic mission, but not because it's in a Muslim country. Simply put, bare shoulders belong at a summer party, a prom, an evening gala reception, where black tie or white tie is required.

Anon 14.13, great question!
