On August 15, 2025, King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended a special VJ Day remembrance service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire. During the national service of remembrance, the King and Queen laid flowers in tribute. Around 33 men, now aged between 96 and 105, who served in the military in the Far East and Pacific, were the guests of honour at the event.
VJ Day, or Victory over Japan Day, is commemorated on August 15 each year and marks the date in 1945 when Japan surrendered to the Allied forces, bringing World War II to an end after nearly six years. For the occasion, Queen Camilla wore a white pleated chiffon dress by Dior and a white Philip Treacy hat. She also wore The Rifles brooch, representing the regiment of which she is Colonel-in-Chief.
Camilla looks excellent in her always perfect white/cream. The pleated dress and lovely hat are wonderful. Lovely to see leaders around the world honouring and respecting this special day.

Looks great with the belt on Camilla’s dress.

Oui c'est vrai, cela lui va bien mais il me semble qu'elle a perdu beaucoup de poids !!!!
DeleteWow!!! I love this dress on Queen Camilla--she looks fabulous. Every element of this Dior design is flattering and perfect for her. Of course I adore her hat--no one wears a big hat like the Queen. How wonderful for the surviving veterans to be able to take part in this celebration as well as meet with Their Majesties. I'm sure the King and Queen were also feeling it is a privilege to meet with these brave gentlemen.

Love this dress on Queen Camilla. A nice change of pace from her standard dress style.
ReplyDeleteThis dress looks quite lovely on the queen. White is a good colour for her.
ReplyDeleteBelle robe blanche au joli plissé que Camilla a su ceinturer avec élégance !
ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla looks exquisite! She knows style when it is needed.
ReplyDeleteI watched the ceremony on television and found it quite moving and well done.
If the veterans are 96 today they only were 16 years old in 1945.
ReplyDeleteI still can hear my father say, when he told us about WWar II : "The war started in 1940 when I was 18 years old and it ended five years later when my youth was over".
Fashion wise. How good Queen Camilla looks in this Dior dress. I've always said that there are dresses which are much better than the coat dresses with zipped front she always wear. No big shoulder pads here, but normal shoulders. On photo N° 3 when looking at her silhouette from the back, she looks so young with the pleated skirt. On the other pictures she is looking good too. I hope we will see her in the future with more similar dresses. Is it possible that King Charles is fighting against his tears ? (Photo N° 4)
This dress is perfect for the Queen, suits her beautifully. Love the pleating of her skirt, moves well as she moved. The belt defines the dress, love the color of her dress. I like her two-tone shoes, and her white clutch. The hat is divine, this type suits her beautifully. The brooch, looks lovely. The King looks superb in uniform.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is beautiful. I love everything about it, the pleats, the belt, the neckline, the white fabric, and the sleeves. The two tone shoes are an attractive accessory along with the hat. I wonder who designed it?? Camilla looks wonderful.

DeleteBelle robe !
Paloma.
Camilla's lovely dress at 80th anniversary was smart with softness, just super!
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks wonderful in this style of dress. It gives her a shape with the belt. A smooth line also. Love it. Congratulations to her stylist you got it right this time.
ReplyDeleteThe King and Queen look fantastic. To celebrate another sad day in History, but it was the end of the War, so there was hope for the future of Humanity. Always remember so it will not be repeated.

I agree, this Dior dress is gorgeous on on QC. The style, colour and fit are perfect. She also owns a beautiful Dior suit, worn I think on their state visit to France. I hope she adds a few more pieces from this design house! (V.M.)
